I though costco only sell tires? I was there today but I did't see any steel rims.

Yeah I have some stuff. We'll have to check if they'll fit. Costco does bring in 5x100 (VW & Chrysler) steel winter wheels but you will have to special order the Subaru 53mm offset. Only takes about a week though. We got some from there before. Not very strong but perfectly round enough for regular winter duty.

spt_impreza has a set of steelies with winter tires on already. Don't know if they'll fit a WRX though, cause I think his are 15's.

Also, Jeremy still has some at Rally.

Finally, IIRC, last time I checked this out at Costco, they did say the Subaru wheel was a special order, and the $48 charge was not applicable to these special orders. I'd go with Rally's pieces.

My 2 cents.

I remember Spt_impreza was 15" and I wanted 16".
Correct me if I am wrong and myself being cheap but $90+ for steel rims are too much.

Re: the $48 WRX rims at COSTCO I mentioned above. I bought a set last week here in Winnipeg. They had 2 sets in stock. If you don't see any, ask to see the wheel catalogue

Thank you I will do that. $48 is a much better price.

Hey Larry, which Costco sells rims -Regent or St. James? I thought they got out of rims due to errors on shipments and markings etc.

thanks,

Stick with the OEM steelies as they are hubcentric. You don't want to shear off your lugs...

i have some universal steelies (16") that i got from subaru. they worked fine for me, although im getting rid of them soon. searching for a set of wrx stockers instead. i need a more narrow wheel base. my steel rims are 16x7 but i need a 6.5.

My local Costco has the Macpek steel 16 inch wheels at that nice price. What is the consensus on that? Is the offset reasonably close to stock WRX? Is it hubcentric, or will it shear off my lugs? Maybe if they're not perfect, no steel wheel is going to be perfect, and I really don't want to use my stock alloys, so I'll go with them anyways...

IF you "order" the steel wheels in 16x6.5" for a WRX from costco, they WILL come w/ a 53mm offset. If you buy the ones off the rack, that's your decision. BTW 16x6 ET48 wheel (designed for German makes) will be completely w/in range as long as you don't get wide winter tires, which is not smart anyways. Going w/ a 195 width winter tire will still fit in the wheel well while pushing the track outwards which is better for lateral stability. They WILL be no rubbing issues, even on wagons.
For those buying 15" Steel wheels from costco, either a 6" wide w/ ET48 or 5.5" wide w/ ET56 is available. Best to use 195 & 185 width tires, respectively.
