Looks great. I decided to get them too. They are going on my stock 16's.

I'll be due for summer tires in the spring. How do you like the KDW's?

They are awesome!! A little on the loud side though when cruising compared to average tires I am used to. (they hum a little bit)

Here is a pic of the KDW2's on my car.

Those look mean!

How do these differ, performance-wise, from the Wintersport M2's?

The new M3s are supposed to be better than the M2s.
Check out tireracks website and look at the comparison charts.

I just got my pair of M3's in the mail on Friday, they go on Tuesday. One thing I had a question on though. There's not a treadwear or temperature or Traction rating anywhere. At least not that I could see. I still haven't taken them out of the plastic though, so it's possible that the marking are just very slight. Tire rack didn't have any of the specs there either. Hrmmm? But like you said, they look mean and I feel much more prepared than w/ the stock RE092's.

I run the M2s and they are nice tires. The M3s look like a more aggressive tread. I would think they are better in the snow than the M2s.

I am thinking about getting the M3s b/c they are a little cheaper than the Blizzak LM22s but on the tirerack site, they got slightly better reviews. The only thing about the reviews is that the number of miles and people that responded with the Blizzak is higher while the M3s look like a very new tire so can't tell a lot about long-term use.

Keep us posted on how you like them and what kind of conditions you end up driving in. I'm guessing I'll get a set in a month.

These piqued my interest too... the price and tread pattern both look pretty good and it looks like they are V-rated from what I've read. I was also wondering why there are so few miles reported on them. Are they a new product for this year or are they just not very popular? Anyone know?

I'm debating on the M3's as well. This will be my first winter with the Suby and I can't imagine it being worse than my '88 Dodge Shadow was last year with all of the snow.

The question is do I buy them or suck it up and get a very good set of Ultra-High-Performance All-Seasons to go with a set of Prodrive P1's??

Luke, how do these new 'performance' winter tires compare to something like a blizzak WS-50 in say a 205/55-16 size? I mean the reviews for both are very good, but can the M2 or M3 really compete in pure snow/ice conditions? I've noticed that the tread depth is 9/32nds on the M3s compared with the 13/32s on the blizzaks. That makes me wonder how well the M3s will handle deeper snow, and if they'll wear out quite a bit faster. That said, even here in Buffalo only 10-20% of my winter driving is actually on snow or ice. Maybe it's worth the compromise for the improved dry/wet performance. Any thoughts?

PS: anyone running 195/55-16s for winter?

Don't have any experience with the M3s but i've been runnign the M2's the past two winters here in Utah and they rule. They seem to last fairly well too, i've already got 2 winters on them with a 50mi/day commute and they're still rockin.

Man, putting 4 of these on a WRX makes for some serious fun in the snow... instead of going home when it snows and staying in, i go out for fun runs... killer traction, lots of control, and those M3s look pretty close to the same but just a little more aggressive maybe...

get 'em!
