Default new guy needs help

I need some direction. I just purchased a 98 Impreza L. I want to get a bit more hp. I am planning on, exhaust, intake, ignition, and a few other simple things. But I was wondering if anyone knew where to get cams for the 98 2.2 L. I am really new to the Subaru world and I really have no idea where to turn to find them. Also if anyone has any suggestion of cost effective brands for simple bolt ons that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The only people who I know that make cams that are good is COBB.
www.COBBtuning.com
Im staying N/A myself and I plan on buying those cams for my 2.5 RS. MRT, Borla, Cobb, syms, and "i forgot their name make headers. Everyone make exausts. Your going to have to figure out if you want quiet or loud.
Does your car have the DOHC 2.2L?
COBB is expensive but they make great stuff!

Thanks but an engine swap, from what I have read so far seems not to be all that cost effective for a few extra hp. Though it would be ideal and eventually I would like be able to. I am trying to keep things simple, quick to do and quiet. But hey if you know of a place that can do a swap in a day for under $2,500 then let me know

I'll prolly get flamed for saying it, but here goes anyway. It seems like there's a lot of interest in making the NA subies faster but the answer is always the same.

Intake, pullies, exhaust, will get a you a lil bit. If you want more, then go turbo otherwise break the bank and gets cams, and ECU tuning.

It seems that in this big quest for power we miss what the cars are really good at. For relatively little money, you can have a really great handling car.

For your L, find someone that has upragded the rear sway on their RS, buy the brackets and endlinks (maybe $30), then get yourself a 20mm rear sway ($85 or so). Used RS springs are pretty easy to come by too (about $50). Throw in some nice shocks (KYB, Koni, etc $250-$600) a couple sets of camber bolts ($40) to dial in some negative camber then go whoop up on the STS locals at autocross.

Lets face it folks, in general the NA Subies are not dragracers, but that doesn't mean they aren't good for a whole lotta fun.
