My dad returned on a business trip to Japan. He was only there 2 days but he managed to grab me one of the Subaru dealerships' Impreza accessory booklet...with all the stuff they sell, the price in Japanese yen (is it 103 to the dollar now?) and a bunch of descriptions. He also brought back the Subaru factory audio/visual catalog. Let me put it this way: it beats the heck out of our faceplates.
![]() Some interesting numbers from what I can tell (at 100 yen/dollar): Hyperwhite headlight bulbs: $29 Carbon fiber interior: $360 Carbon fiber shift knob: $155 "Sports edition" red leather interior: $360 Tommykaira front bumper: $1350 (it looks ok) Tommykaira rear bumper: $940 Steel SOJ strut tower bar: $185 WRC shift knob: $125 Short shifter: $300 STi lowering springs: $280 STi gold BBS Electras (16 by 7): $2660 (all 4) STi manual pedal set: $120 STi pink stars badge: $23 They don't have all the STi parts or even most of them, but it's interesting to see what you're paying over there compared to what you're paying over here. TRi Tuning only charges $5 (!) more for the STi springs than the catalog, for example. Pretty cool stuff...and I have the WRC reports as well as the WRX and Sportwagon/Impreza SRX brochures. He's going back pretty soon, too, though I'm not going to ask him to truck back 50 sets of struts. ![]()

I have the same booklets from the last couple production years. Just to let you know for example the shifter, (I do't have the book infront of me now) you wil see a price in () that is the instalation fee so the shifter actually is around $200.00.
Let me know if you need anything translated my wife is from Jpn Jim The Unknown STi Guy I forgot, the entire Sports Interior (Which I have) is more like $1000.00 once you get the Red/Black Momo Stearing Wheel, floor mats, shifter knob, red guage cluster etc. [This message has been edited by SubePwr (edited June 18, 2000).] |

Japan also now has a 5% sales tax. I sent those catalogs to DonA from the North East RS Club to try and get translated to post online. I think he is having trouble getting them translated.

ImprezaMike:
I have considered scanning portions of it but unfortunately the scanner is trashed. ![]() As for photocopying it, check back in a week or two about that. I'm a little busy preparing for a 7 week trip and I don't have a whole lot of spare time for a Kinko's run. Just wondering-what are you looking for? I can always look. have a good one. |

No responses? Well, I figured inquiring minds would want to know.
