I installed my 3pt in the following positions:

1. back seat lap belt bolt.

2. on the left side of the seat underneath the carpet there is a hole w/ threads that you can insert a seatbelt bolt. your gonna have to make a little hole in the carpet for this one.

3. on the right side i took out the existing bolt that secured the seat frame towards the end of the bar and replaced it w/ the new bolt so i could attach the harness latch to it.

tell me if you want clarification on any of these. hope this helps

Thanks Matt, that helps. But, I think I have a new problem now. I realized after posting my original message that my harness is set up for using eye-bolts. The mounting plates at the end of each strap have a spring loaded clip. This allows you to just clip the straps to an eye-bolt and then remove them when you want. It sounds like you have yours permanently mounted in the car, yes? I know Chris and Andre do. I may be in the market for a new harness if I can't get mine to work. Thanks again.

Cool

I don't have time to go into detail now I will post directions later but I have a 5 pt harness in my car that I just put in. I just need to make something for the sub strap. I also have the eye bolts so I can clip it out if I don't want it in the car.

Bohanan @ work:
Sorry i didnt' mention that, i have eye-bolts too. What kind of harness do you have where did you get it?

the position to install the eye-bolt on the left side is towards the front of the car from the original bolt.

I don't have the eyebolts but use the rear seat belt mounting points. I don't wear the harness for daily driving though. By the way, I use the 3" TRW Sabelt harness. Its more comfortable than the Schroth Rallye 4's I used to have.

I've got the cheapest Simpson 3" set up. I bought it for my '91 Civic Si strictly for autocross. The thing is, I left the eye-bolts in when I sold the car for the RS! I didn't want to deal with plugging the holes in the floor pan. That was another concern. I'd prefer to use any existing bolt holes so I don't have to worry about them pulling through (like an incident with the Civic - not pretty). I got the harness from ProAm here in Houston. Matt, does the eye-bolt interfere with your seat travel? Do you have pictures of your installation, especially the rear?

Thanks Gary. I think Chris and Andre are using the Sabelt 3" setups. I like theirs, but would prefer to exhaust all options before shopping for a new system.

Akiata, did you see Mike Herbst's installation? He shows how he made a mounting bar for the anti-sub belt. http://home.san.rr.com/projectrs/

Hi Adam,
Yes, I have "Auto pro 3" from Racer Wholesale Supply, or something like that. Mine does not have eye hooks, and stay in the car when I don't use it.
I used the rear lap mounts for my shoulder harness.
On my left lap belt I used the original factory mount. On the right side I mounted it to the bolt that mounts the rear of the seat rail to the body.
This company also sells eye hooks and other type mounting hardware. But I think if you use the eye hooks, you will have to come up with a diffrent right lap belt mount.....

Adam, my Sabelts go in with eyebolts like Matt said. I can unhook them when not in use, although I just let them sit in the back seat. I think you can use the system you have with the eyebolts. You could bring them to the Divisional in Mineral Wells and we could look at it there!!Hint Hint, come out and Play! Call me if you have any questions.

Directions?!?!You guys are sounding like a bunch of women! I just started tearing my car apart and putting the eye bolts in. Only took about 1 1/2 hours! I did use the left side stock mount under the carpet and the right side back seat bolt. The rear is to the seat belt mounts. I have the 3" Sparco/Sabelt in BLUE. And I have a Legacy.

Oh hey, you said you don't have the eye bolts? You can buy them from a sparco dealer. You will have to buy the whole kit (about 10 each) and you will need 4 of them. The thread on the bolt is a universal seatbelt thread so it will fit ANY car. I think you can get them from rallispec.
