Angry punk kid -hit&run- chase - murderous mood. Read (long)

I had so many entries for that subject field but couldn't really think of a way to make it sound ULTRA interesting but I think you guys should read on.

I'm with 5 other cars that are my friends. 1 pontiac, 3 MR2 turbos, civic HB, and me.We're cruzin down the 60 going west from riverside. B*tch ass ghetto 90-93 accord comes flyin out of nowhere. Cutting people off ridiculously close. Well, he cuts off one of the MR2's REEEEALY close and but to be able to get in he SWERVED at my friend to scare him. Thats when he cut in. Well, we all see this and pursue him(he was going at high speeds). My friend in the MR2 that he cut off flashes him and the accord stands on his brakes. Brake lights all over on the 60.

Anyways, he starts THROWING ***** at the MR2. We all see this and swarm on him. We get the plates and its cool. But he continues throwing stuff. Now at everyones car. Then he came to me. The bastard threw something that hit me car and my elbow, which is severly bruised. Anyhow, I'm PISSSED. I start trying to get him to pull over. No go. He's in the middle lane. I'm closest to the slow lane. I try to bone out and get in front and away from him, he see and downshifts as I'm going over, he HITS ME! Ayaaaa! My baby! Got the rear driver side quarter panel. I think our rims collided. Oh and as a side note, if I was in MY MR2 I probably would have fished tailed and spun out. But I had my trustly AWD to save me. Fishtailed alittle but but corrected it. Well, I had about enough. We slow down to about 40 and the accord cuts to a exit at the last second. Its over.

I call the police. They take a report and thats it. I had to bend the fender out so that it didn't hit the wheel as I hit bumps.

Anyways, just thought I'd share this with you guys. After everything was done with, I thought to myself, "Wait till the I-Club hears about this one." *Sigh* Just not my couple of weeks huh?

Do you guys know if the police will contact me if they find the guy? Anyways if you guys in so cali in the 626/818 area see a white 90-93 accord with YELLOW mudflaps with damage to the passenger fender. Please get a good look at the a$$hole for me? I'm so scatter-brained right now its crazy. I was shaking from the adreniline in my system when I got out to inspect the car. When I remember more, I'll tell you guys. It all happened so fast.

DAMN, that SUCKS man. Yes, the police should notify you, but just be happy knowing his ass is going to jail. Hell, you guys did they right thing buy grabbing his plate ##, but that brings to question. If he was bold enough to swerve, then hit you, it might not have been his car. If the cops find out it was stolen, and the kid was joyriding, his ass is gonna be sittin pretty in jail for a good time. M8, Rob, any of our other policemen, can you guys shed a little light on what will happen?

BTW, is your insurance gonna cover the damage? Considering it might be a case of joyriding.

Pwrup25RS, I hope you got a look at the driver! It's necessary for a successful prosecution that the victim be able to positively ID the driver.

What you had wasn't really a H&R accident, it was an assault by motor vehicle/aggravated assault/reckless endangerment case. There was no accident in his ramming you. Of course, in any legal proceedings, be prepared for the defense attorney to emphasize the chase prior to the collision. I can hear it now "Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, my client was being chased down by the witness, in fear of his life..."

I can't imagine what I would have done if he used his car to hit mine. I think at that point I would have considered it an attempt to kill me. By using his car as a battering ram, he was trying to cause you to lose control of your vehicle and kill you - at least in red fugued state I would have considered it an attempt on my life. At this point I think I would have backed off and attempted to follow him. Find out where he lived... If my buds were with me, and all had phones, it might work to tail him without him knowing.

Once I knew where he lived he would be mine. 4:00 am on Sunday morning while he was sleeping in his nice warm bed there would be a knock on his door. Hopefully this guy would already have a warrant against him. If so, he would be tazed and pepper sprayed... if not, he probably would be tazed and sprayed anyway.

That guy was just dangerous. He has plainly shown he can't intelligently utilize the freedoms he enjoys. Its time to take away some of those privileges. Jail time!

Damn that sucks pwrup25rs. The second I got hit by him I would throw away all conscience about getting hit, getting in front on the *******, break and make him stop or ram him to the side. Get off my car, club in hand.
Of course that's what I would *like* to do, actual decisions I might take in that position may vary

Just remember to concentrate on the fact that you were pursuing him, NOT chasing him. Like one of our resident police officers said, be prepared for a completely out of whack view from the defense. Get a good lawyer...I know tons of guys who have gone cheap with the lawyer and got screwed.

Sorry to hear about everything...hope he gets plenty of jail time.

Thanks guys. I'll know more by monday morning. If thats the case, then I better go find an lawyer. Damn this sounds like its gonna be real involved. Sigh... oh well. I couldn't really sleep last night. I was thinking that it all could have ended totally different. I consider myself really lucky to be able to get away with my life with that. After impact, it was scary, my baby was suddenly alive, trying to go where it wanted!

Paintball gun and Jawbreakers! Trust me he would have stopped if you had a pelted his car with 200 jawbreakers at over a few hundred feet per second. They shatter windows, leave huge dents, and you'd be amazed at what they'd do to a person. Did you give the cops his license plate number? In Maryland you could go to the DMV and pay them like $5 and they would give you the info on the vehicles owner. Things like who they are, where they live, those kinds of things. If you didn't want them to give out your info you had to call them and request they not do it. See if CA has that also. The guy sounds like another one of those low life POS's that it should be legal to kill. Can't have them clogging the gene pool like a hair ball in the drain.

I am placing my bet: THE CAR IS STOLEN.
Who in there right mind would drive up to a bunch of cars, and start throwing, swerving, and whatever else at you in there own car? nd then after you start following him/chasing him, actually hit you?
Sorry about you miss fortune. I know if I was in that situation, I would have wanted to chase him. But my girlfriend would scream, and she is usually right about not starting this "road-rage" thing. It is too bad, at least you got the plate.
Good luck,
ps-be happy he did not have a gun..

Well at least the guy who hit me and drove off got sentenced on Friday. He was military over here in Japan. Bottom line is he got caught and ruined his life. When he gets out of jail he will be discharged. That and Japan impounded his car and kept it, he lost all of his pay for 6 months (plus an aditional $400), lost his license, and Japan is having him thrown out upon his release. At least over here you get some justice.

Whoa.... were you sorta like "racing" with him? Maybe to him you were trying to do your *hit with him and he decided to be an @$$hole. I know this might sound like a wuss, but I would've got his plates and backed off. Let him be. The dent created is not worth it just to "get back at him". All the best.

Personally... if it was late at night with noone else around I would have come up behind him and pushed him into a spin and hoped for the worst.

Nahhh not really but its a nice idea. Ideally I would've followed him and been on the phone with the cops telling them I'm chasing him and kept following til either he stopped or the cops could take over and get him.

You shoulda never been chasing the guy. Let him cut your group off like a jerk - who cares. But when you chase him down and he's throwing stuff at you guys, and you don't quit - you're asking for trouble!

Look where it got you.

I'd bet the accord was stolen and the crazy driver is never found.

Yea, well, its done and over with, at least for now. Its all insurance and other legal bs. And I agree, I'm lucky he DIDN'T have a gun. Well, when you're 21 and full of pride, I guess thats what happens. Sigh..I'm pretty sure the damage is at least in the 2000's.
