Anyone live in Oregon?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone here lived in Oregon. I have a friend who's in college in Eugene and she says it's wonderful out there. I was thinking of taking a trip out there and checking it out. Can anyone tell me about the cost of living, the atmosphere, job market, etc..? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ya I live in Portland. It RAINS. Alot. And it reached about 85 today and I thought I was going to melt. Everything is green and there are alot of rivers everywhere. Other than the people driving terrible its a good place. Hope ya like coffee because no matter where you turn there is a coffee shop.

dude, Portland ROCKS !!!!

i lived a year in Gvt Camp on Mount Hood and let me tell you... Portland is the ONLY place i would live in the u.s. if i HAD to.

it is beautyful, it's fun, one of the Beastie Boys also has his secondary residance there... (is the Xlarge shop still open ?)

i love this city, and you have Mt Hood an hour away to snowboard all year round

Hey I am living in Eugene!! It is a really wonderful small city, things are not that expensive (no sales tax... ya ha!!) I dunno much abt the job market cuz I am still in college. But what kind of job you are looking for though?

Hey brianm, I live in a suburb of Portland called Lake Oswego. It is absolutely AWESOME here. I LOVE it.

Cost of living: not bad. $500-600 for a 1 bedroom apartment. You can get them for as little as $400 if you look around.

Atmosphere: Entertainment is the same as any major city. Pubs, clubs, concerts, movies, etc. It's a smaller town, and I feel that the people are nicer here than most places I've been. Portland is laid back compared to most other major cities...the pace of life is a lot slower.

Job Market: There are so many damn jobs here, it's incredible. If you have computer/technical skills, you're set. Hell, even if you don't, you're set

If you end up visiting, I'd be happy to show you around. Later!

Ah, it sounds so great out there. I want to leave this horrible desert! I miss trees and grass and rain and and everything. I used to live in Seattle, so I'm used to that kind of wheather. About the 85 degrees, bah! heh it was 110 out today. Of course it isn't very humid here.. heh.

The guy from the Beastie Boys who has a place up there is Adam Yaunch, if I'm not mistaken..

Ownly, there are some killer riders coming out of Quebec, You ever been to Blue Mountain?? Its in Ontario...my local park

Oregon... hmmm...

seems i spend all my time there lately... i should just relocate!! LOL!!

the climate can be a bit damp, cost of living is fair especially compared to CA and the likes...

and seems all the rally cross and big rally events are located there!!

like Squire said... hang out in the NW forum to get a feel for what goes on....
