TD04 is the case.

According to the Australian "Forester XT Technical Supplement":
Quote:
Turbocharger
The turbocharger used in the Forester XT is the same physical size and
specification as the Impreza WRX model year 2003 however because
the Forester has a larger 2.5-litre engine the turbocharger capacity to
engine capacity ratio is smaller. The maximum boost pressure is lower
at 600 mmHg (11.6psi) compared to 700 mmHg (13.5psi) in Impreza
WRX.

As far as I can tell, the Australian Forester XT and the North American are virtually identical with some option package differences and:
Right Hand Drive vs. Left
Different lights (DOT lenses here, something different there)
Different aluminum beam in rear bumper, probably same in front.
NA probably doesn't have microscopic security chips.

The drivetrain, chassis, and running gear appears identical. I'm going to find out if the suspension is different, i.e. if self leveling rear suspension or different springs are used.
