KenG, nah i don't go weeeeeeee, i go Grrrrrrrrr as i try and wring its neck to get another 1MPH out of it. I wish these yankee's could experience a car like mine, it would blow their minds (rsquire and Subie Gal know the score ).

Back on topic

Come on England,Come on England,Come on England,Come on England.

I love all sports, love to watch the tension build in a good baseball game, i sure do miss watching the Braves play on a beautiful Georgia evening.

Love motorsports because its as much a mental toughness and technical sport as it is a physical skill sport. Gives me a real kick when pushing past my limits, only to find there are new limits out there, such a thrill.

I admire any athlete in any sport who excells, because the dedication and single mindedness to be that good is just mindblowing. I hate a gifted athlete who does'nt try hard, drives me mad.

Best sport in the world for me, Rallying, but i have been trying to win in that for 17 years, such a complex dissipline to get right.

Engerland,Engerland,Engerland,Engerland,Engerland, Engerland,Engerland,Engerland,Engerland,Engerland, Engerland.

Oh its all gone quiet over there (germany),Oh its all gone quiet over there (germany),Oh its all gone quiet, all gone quiet, all gone quiet over there (germany)

Let's remember a couple of things:

the thugs doing the rioting aren't fans - they're just thugs (no different to any other game I imagine).

The dreaful treatment of Beckham meted out by those that *did* call themselves fans means that England barely deserves a team capable of beating a modern-day German side. It's nice to see them win after all this time, but that's as far as my enthusiam will let me go (I guess I'm not "English" enough).

You guys are proving my point, repeatedly. Like I said, you claim that we're ignorant because we don't pay attention to your sports. HELLO?? You're sitting there ragging on all our sports. And you do it all the time. And then turn around and accuse us of doing it? There's not too many world sports I don't like, but that soccer crap is soooooooooooooooooooooo boring. Run around in circles, kick each other, break EVERY rule in the book every 5 minutes, run some more, kick each other in the shins intentionally, blame the referees (or umpires or whatever you call them) because your team sucks, attack an official (seen this dozens of times on video), and do everything within your power to incite fan violence, then get on the internet and proclaim your country as the greatest ever because some steroid-filled losers who have devoted their entire lives to a GAME just happen to get lucky enough to beat another bunch of losers? Yea, woohoo, go engerland.

Come on, let's hear some more "Well, you're just ignorant because you don't like our sports". Ok then. Who sounds ignorant now? "Anybody who doesn't agree with me is just ignorant, as simple as that." Classic liberal statement. Go for it. Tell me all about how stupid I am because I'm DIFFERENT than you. Please do. And I'll continue watching and playing my favorite sports (which incidentally do not include soccer), and I'll enjoy myself too That's supposed to be the point: enjoyment. That's no joy in rioting and murdering. Take that crap out of your sport, and maybe I'll start watching it again. But right now, I'm going outside to shoot some hoops Have fun!

your ignorant because you are expressing opinions as though they are fact. i like all American sports. i live here and would be in poor shape if i did'nt enjoy the local sports. that said, there is nothing that compares to an international match in footy. if you don't get it, just have enough self confidence to say you don't understatnd, and stop sounding ignorant.it just smacks of insecurity to suggest that the rest of the planet (ie the people who watch "soccer") are the ones who are missing the point. i like basketball, American football etc. i don't care if you have no interest in football. this thread was started by someone who's happy about a significant result in the European championships. if you don't care (and you clearly don't understand) then why weigh in with your negative and ignorant comentary?

Bryan - Grow up, man. The more blanket statements you make, the more you come off sounding like an idiot. Only one person on this board made an inflammatory statement about American sports (and Americans in general) - that would be ian/555. If you have a problem with what he said, then address your comments to him. But to come back to this thread and say, "You guys [implying everybody that has posted to this thread] are proving my point, repeatedly. Like I said, you claim that we're ignorant because we don't pay attention to your sports. HELLO?? You're sitting there ragging on all our sports [ummmm, who was doing any ragging on our sports?]," is just wrong.

I don't know why I'm bothering to reply to your nonsense. When you've completed your GED, please come back to this thread and attempt to carry out an intelligent argument.

I can't be bothered as educating the ignorent is such hard work and besides who cares what sport you play.
As long as you are factual in the comments or post's that you make then i for one will be happy, if anyone's intention was to post a light hearted remark or joke go for it because as far as i am concerned the world is far too serious anyway just next time could you use a few "smiles" as it is a bit hard to tell your intentions as i will be the first to admit that sometimes even i can't read betwean the lines.
Oh and P.Olson i'm not gonna bite as your retort which was in/directly aimed at me, obviously was not totally based on my comments!

I think everyone needs to hit the showers...except for the guys yelling Engerland...they can stay.

Personally, BTW, I'm not a fan of soccer, but to each his own. Let's remember that. Everyone has their own opinions.

And let's remember that a lot of people in the world drive SUVs...and that doesn't make them quality cars. The numbers argument is hardly appropriate.

my turn now!
by the way.......I support MUFC...Keane-o
internationally...I'm a German American...so I support United States first...Germany second..

all this bickering about footie being a lousy sport? WHa????? I'm sorry...I'm American...but I'll be the first to admit, our sports are shyte compared to footie. People in this country seem to forget one thing....
sports here are just that....sports......
football everwhere in the world except here is a RELIGION....it goes way beyond just sport.
it always seems to me, us Americans seem to have this superiority complex that we think things we produce are always better than everything else...there is no way...no way...that any sport made here, or anywhere else, can give the same energy, passion, love, and intensity of Football (and i aint talking with a pigskin by the way)...that's just fact..if you disagree....go to a World Cup match and watch two rival teams..I've been lucky enough to witness plenty of live footie matches..either in Old Trafford (during hte Cantona kick a fan days..hehe)...or here in the US for World Cup 94....intense...just plain intense..for our sports..I've been to rival matches of every NY kind....Knicks vs Bulls, Rangers vs Islanders, Yankees vs Red Sox, even Yanks World Series game 6, 96....not even close to the same idea....
sorry...but if people in this country can understand the seriousness of the Olympics, then why can't we just understand...football is just the olympics magnified on a soccer pitch where players bleed for their country and fans.
every other sport is just shyte compared to it...sorry...
by the way...for those people in Manchester....I just recieved my supporter's club membership for MUFC....i'm hoping to get over there this coming season to watch a few matches, grab a few pints. (ughh..it's hard to find a good pint around here)...

There's only one United.........
No way Liverpool's taking anything next year...Owen hurts his hamstring like 6 times a year...he's a wee lolly poofta.
Fowler (when he plays) get's suspended for not having anything under his lid. hehe
City? hahahahahahha...bout time you guys got back up.....don't go back down again...
all in good fun! don't be mad...

Roy Keane is the keenest
he wears the captains hat
first time he saw old Trafford
he said "I fancy that"
well Glasgow tried to sign him
but he chose the red and white
of our famous Man United
cause the rest are f*cking shyte!
Glory Glory Man United.....
sing on for the champions....

England does not rule anymore. They lost with 2-3 from Roemenie.
So all hooligans can go home now ,and we can make this a real soccer party without riots and people getting molested or killed
Shame for the real fans.
