Default The RWD Driftabaru RS

Well, yes for those who dont visit us over in TriState or any other boards... BAM!

I converted my pooparu to rwd, I did a bunch of research (then later found directions ) on how to do this in theory but couldnt find any real info. I took the diff to Nino at Ninos Auto Accessories and told him basically this *should* work and he worked his magic and came back with a rwd transfercase that Precision tuning put in...

Enough typing, if you want more info search "fat tits rwd" in tristate for all the info and links.

various stages of the pooparu...

i had gold 98's on it as well but im lazy and cant find any of those.. and bracelis had an AWESOME shot of it in the middle of an awd drift at a drift event.. but i didnt have it and its hosted anymore

anyway.. the driftabaru

---Plug Plug Plug---------
If any vendors want to step up to the plate, the RS in its current form has quite the following in the tristate area and in the east coast drift community as "Knight Rider". Ive competed in many east coast tarmac drift competitions as awd this year and was runner up for a podium finish at the US Drift Nationals at summit point, Finished in the finals at the Signal Auto judged event in NJ.

Currently Ninos Auto Accessories (and the tristate re92's ) is my "drift" tire sponsor, but i am also looking for additional sponsorship for coils, rear diff (ATS?), possibly boost (FAT?).

If you are intersted please PM me, Im trying to get a flight out to vegas for sema and drift day 9.
---Plug Plug Plug----------

thanks

RWD (Filename)

I need to remove my front axles and mess with my steering rack/tie rods to get more of a drift angle, my wheel locks too soon to get the boot really far out.

Edit: yes the front axles are CURRENTLY in, basically the pieces that send power to the front in the center diff were removed.. the axles need to be removed sometime though. Does anyone know if they make a high speed rack for our impreza's? Thanks

Lots of drift cars are like that becuase the front bumper comes off very easily.

Fat Tits: rev lab indeed does make a quick rack for our body style... it's not too pricey either if you send yours in to be modified.

Hey i did it with my rs 50/50 w/o boost, i ran like 97698798667769 different setup's cuz i was the ONLY guy drifting awd in competition on the east until recently so i was on my own, and now a FR Impreza ..on my own again.

When i ran awd the best tip i can give is run super skinny tires, i ran 165's at all fours. if you get boost try running something skinny up front and whatever in the rear. Cusco also makes Center/Front diffs that convert the subaru 50/50 to 35/65 like the STi without dccd.. but its like $2500 (z1 has it iirc)... *Someone PLEASE beat the crap out of their sti and try to competition drift it with dccd so we can see!*

Good luck!

Ya that's them. They posted about it a while ago on RS25.com if you do a search over there. They are in Canada somewhere, I wanna say Toronto.

But it looks like i will be investing in a ALK

Anyone have an ideas on how to get more steering angle after i remove the front axles? tie rods, shims, shaving the steering bumpstops...?

thanks
