('93-'01) Anyone know there's new 2.5RS for sale??

Due to financial situation, I can't afford an RS before. However, NOW I'm finally good to go.

Can anyone tell me which dealership still have new RS for sale? I am looking for silver coupe, with MT.

I can ask the Houston dealership to "acquire" that car for me if any of you can lead me to the right direction.

MY02 RS is only sedan. Anyway, I am also looking for a silver RS, best place to go is West Houston Subaru. Those guys know a lot. I went over to Gillman Subaru yesterday and they really sucked. They started talking price right off the bat, they didn't care what options I wanted on it. Sooo.. go West Houston.

I have checked the the entire Southeast and found only 4 2001 2.5RS they are all automatics and are either white or STM. I not certain but one might be a coupe as it didn't state what it was. That unspecified car also had leather. The rest of the cars were all sedans.

I had checked the Northeast a month or two ago and there was a STM 2000 RS in the NY area. I doubt its still there. Good luck. Email me if you want info on the cars I talked about. Frank

When I started looking for a 2001 Sedan STM with MT in Feb.. I just started using the subaru's website dealer search and kept hitting next 3 listings..

Eventually, the only STM sedan w/MT that I found in Tx, Ok, La, etc was in Houston.

So I had a dealer here in Austin do the "dealer swap".

I'm sure that a Subaru salesperson would have an easier way of tracking one down.. but the dealer I went to wasn't too helpful. So I had to do it myself.

Hey, everyone,
I check out Yahoo Classified for new 2001 2.5 RS and hoping for something to show up. To my surprise, there are many 2001, even 2000 new STM coupes out there (mostly in CA or WA)

My question is, Yahoo classified offer service that they deliver the "goods" (car) to you by a service provider. Anyone try this before, or should I give out the info to a local Subie dealship and have them do a "dealer swap"?

Hey RigdenZW, can you tell me some more details about this procedure (I have never buy a new vehicle before) Thanks!

Basically, after being given the runaround on getting them to help me locate the car I wanted and not the one they wanted to sell me... I told them I had found one in Houston. They said that instead of me driving to Houston to get it, that they would just do a dealer swap. What happens is that they bring the car from the other dealership and take one of theirs back down there to replace it. They told me it costs them to transport it, but I've heard from other dealers on here that it doesn't. Either way I didn't pay anything. All I know is that I wish I had known that they were going to 'drive' my new car up and drive another back. If you do a dealer swap, ask if you can have it transported on a trailer. Also, the swap doesn't have to be same make and model.. that's up to the dealers to work out. Sorry I couldn't give you anymore info. It was for the most part handled by the dealer.

Whoa whoa whoa... what? West Houston Subaru isn't carrying Subarus? They just did a dealer swap for me this week... '02 Outback Sport for a '02 RS.

I tried to get one through the dealers here in Austin to no such luck...Gillman said they could only sell me the one on their lot. I drove down to Harlingen, TX got the same car for $50/month cheaper.

Before I was looking at getting a Nissan Frontier, with the anthricite rims...they offered a dealer swap and said the only problem was working a deal out with another dealer, but other than that its fairly simple and were happy to help get me what I wanted.

I know that last weekend Lancaster Subaru in California Had a silver 01 coupe manual, bought my RBP instead of that one.

Hey ATX25RS.. what's up?

Did they try and sell you the red Impreza? I drove that one. It's the one that sold me on getting an Impreza. FYI Gillman is where I did my dealerswap. I don't think I'd buy a car from them again. The whole process was NOT smooth.. I had to do most of the work and phone calling... and they tried to pull a couple of fast ones over me. The funny thing is the sales person that was helping me the most ended up getting in trouble over one of the 'fast ones' when she backed me up. After being back a couple of times for some option installs and to fix some problems I had with the vehicle, one day I ask for her and I get, "She no longer works here." I wonder if she quit or was let go. Sorry about the rant mode.
