Scepter (sp?) Tires

Does any one have any experience with scepter tires? I got them last year when I picked up my car as a replacement for the tires that were on there and were showing cords. Any time it rains now I get absolutely no traction and in turns my car will just slide all 4 wheels completely out of the turn. Is it my car or is it ****ty tires?

you get what you pay for .. sounds like a major offbrand

paid like 450 for the set, got railroaded by the inspection center I was at... they wouldn't pass me without new tires, but I definitely needed them. Now I have pretty much brand new tires and dont know what to do... i'm not rolling in cash, but dont want ****ty tires either, even if they are new.

Some off-brands work ok. Some off-brands are absolutely horrid. Tread and carcass design can be crappy (read "not optimized worth @#$%"). Tire compounds can be old gen/junk. Either way, newer name brand products largely outpace the performance, comfort, quietness, etc. of these off-brand pieces. They are tires. They are cheap. They just normally are not very good.
