(First post, yay)

The FN01RC, 17x8 ET35 does NOT fit. I have it mounted with a 235, and my suspension is completely stock. It clears my Brembo's with room to spare, but, the difference in offset pushes the tire so far out towards the fender that the rear rubs over everything. I've been driving lowered cars with 17 and 18" wheels for years, so I drive carefully, to no avail.

Maybe with a tire that was entirely too narrow for the rim, like a 215, it wouldn't rub. But, with a more appropriate tire size, it rubs, even bone stock. Forget about it if you are lowered. Not a prayer.

negative...

goto tirerack.com and read about offset.

to break it down, positive offset is ho far towards to outside of the wheel the mounting point, and neg is the opposite. you'remore likely to have a deeper "dish" if the offset is lower.

offset and width go hand in hand...and not every wheel ever gets a dish regardless of offset.

Well i probably should have clarified what I wanted to know. I want to get volk se37k for my STi and i saw that two offsets fit the car. I would like to choose the offset that would warrant the most tire to strut clearance, without sticking out past the fender well. I'm shooting for 17x8 with 245's

**edit: now that i think about it, large tire to strut clearance will probably give me inner fender issues. Can anyone recommend the correct offset?

Figured this out - sorry for cluttering the thread. The OZs I own (17x7) will not fit either the 04 or 05 so that would explain why my particular model wheels would not be listed.

David

Original message text:

I was interested to see 17" OZ Superleggeras listed for the 05 Sti but not the 04.

Did something change in the 05 to accomodate the OZs or is their ommission from the 04 list a mistake?

I ask because I purchased 17" OZ Superleggeras from Tire Rack last year for my WRX and would like to keep them as my winter rims when I hopefully upgrade to an Sti later this fall.

David

05 Sti is 5-114.3 bolt pattern, WRX's from '04 and earlier were all 5-100

Default Gram Light 57pro

Since the Gram Light 57pro fits/clears the 04 STi, wouldn't it fit/clear the 05's as well?

yes but if the rim is available in both 5-100 and 5-114.3 I don't see why it wouldnt fit 05 if it fits 04.

5Zigen Pro-Racer GN+ 17x8.5 48mm with 235-45-17 fit great. Lowered STi with Sti "pinks". Zero rubbing. The 235 fits so much better on the 8.5 wheel.

Maybe this is a stupid question. Do Gram Lights 57Cs (17x7.5, +48) fit the STi? They're no longer in the main list, but I can see the replies on the first page and in quoted versions of the list that they used to be on there.

I've seen other posters say they don't even fit over stoptechs. So what's the skinny? Are they gonna fit?

Sorry to everyone for the lack of updating, nonetheless I have added numerous wheels to the first post. Now onto answering members posts:

At first I was getting mixed confirmations, in the end I found they do infact NOT fit.

Sam, to be honest I don't want to say either yes or no. As the 05' STi is still new with it's 5x114.3 PCD confimations have been hard to get.

I personally am unsure of this, as I haven't found a member with them currently installed. That is generally how I get "confirmation" of fitments.

Now it is, take a look at the first page.

Sounds stupid, but are you sure they are 7.5" wide? As I know the 17x8's fit also.
Hope this helps, I will not fall behind again.... .

None of the 17" Gram Lights listed on the second page fit. As I previously mentioned in my last post:

Ed, I haven't seen many Subaru's running Kosei wheels let alone an STi. Nonetheless I have sent an email to Kosei Japan in regards to your request. Would have been easier for Luke to find out, however he is away till at least 10/4.

Either way I will post up info. as soon as it comes available to me.
