Someone please help me!!!
the 57c's are not brembo clearance friendly.

I know in the 17x8.5 you needed to go to a +40mm to clear the calipers.

find a local STi and test fit.

also b/c their spoke design is not caliper clearance friendly and their offset is high.

I have a GC and am looking for some cheap rims for the snow where narrow is better, figured i coulda gotten some 06 stockers for cheap. any other recommendations?

PS as far as seeing if aftermarket wheels fit over brembos is to see if they are suggested wheels on tirerack for the 04 sti a good way to do it?

what's 'cheap'? if you want a set of wheels for under $1000, your best bet is to find a used set or new rotas.

and yes, set your car to be an 04 sti on tirerack and it'll list the wheels that fit over brembos.

Actual weight on a certified postal scale for the 5/100 manufactured ~2004 is 14.0 lbs without centercap (which does not weigh .9 lbs).

possibly. any reason why you're asking? only reason i ask is because those are nearly identical to the oem wheel specs.

What wheel I should choose for the STI version 10?

I am going to buy SSR Type-F 18", the do have 2 specs as follow.

1. 18x8.5 ET30

2. Front18x8.5 Rear18x9 ET40

I am going to use the stock 245 tires, but I do afraid that ET30 wheel is to close to the wings, for ET40, I am not sure if it can fit the Alcon brake kit.

1, you haven't told us what kind of car you have. 2, we have no idea what kind of suspension mods you have. 3, to answer you...yes, with money you can make anything fit.

most likely not. i doubt their inner diameter will clear the front calipers. there are very few 16" wheels which clear the brembos.

There has got to a way to tell whether or not a rim will clear STi Brembos. What number do I look for when shopping for a rim? Offset? Backspacing?

There has to be something other than trial and error!?

I don't see ASA wheels on TireRack anymore. Did they change their name to Sport Competition by any chance?

As far as sizes yes, you can generally tell if a rim will not fit, 16 X 7, 53mm offset, 5 X 100, a stock WRX rim, will definately not fit. A 17 X 8, 48mm offset, 5 X 114.3 Rota Torgue fits, but another rim in the same size etc. with a different spoke design may rub the FACE of the Brembos. That's why sometimes you just have to put them on to see.

Can anyone confirm that SSR Competitions 17x7.5 with a 50mm offset will clear Brembos? Tire Rack says that 17x8 with a 49mm offset of the same rims will fit on an 04 STi. I'd just like to make sure, thanks.
