Angry time to change cars or what??????! (tad long)

geez....
please empathize w/me people...
another messed up Friday.. .
what is it w/me??? huh???

stickers/decals... whatever you want to call them... they are starting to add up to nothing but trouble for me...

prick in a Saab 9000CSE... total arsehole... TRIES to hit me this morning... literally swerves AT ME because he felt i was driving too fast... WTF???

driving down the FWY doin??? 65-70 in a 60 - my exit lane arrives.. i get in it... going faster than mr-jerk-guy who is still on the main fwy in the lane to my left... as i am exiting... he swerves at me! totally in my lane! i hit the Hella horns and floored it.... he drops in behind me... arms waving like a madman and flashing his lights... we hit the off ramp...

suggested speed???? 25 mph... well... at that point i could see he was 'following' me (didn't know what the hell i had done to piss him off...) so again... i laid on it... handed him is ass... did about 70 on this corner... but came up on traffic and had to stop... a good 5 seconds later he catches up.. pulls up on the shoulder on the right side of me and starts screaming at me...

he rolls down his window as i do mine... i said "excuse me, but didn't you see me in the exit lane???" he says... "you can't pass in that lane" I said "I was exiting you azzhole" he says "you were going way to fast!" I replied... "well that's none of you gd business, I'll go as fast as I like"

then... he tries to hit me AGAIN!! cuts in front of me while getting back onto the road... 2 construction flagger dudes saw the whole thing... i stopped by briefly to chat w/them... apologized for my profanity.. to which they assured me to "forget it - that guy was an azz"

yet... i can't forget it...
people like that scare me... i am single, live alone - now he has a good idea where i work... etc. i WILL see his car again... i know he works here too... somewhere...

do i get rid of the stickers? is this the problem? i feel that if i had a plain-jane car... i would have no problems...
but... i also feel to each his own... and my car is definately not for everyone....

do i have to drive 60 in a 60? am i too aggressive?

should i get me a little ford focus and blend in w/the crowd??? gag!!!!

or should i get used to being road raged?

i guess if i am gonna drive the car set up the way it is... i have to take my medicine eh???

anyway.. if you're still reading... thanks for listening... guess i am just a little shook up by the whole thing... not really sure what, if anything i should change.

People will continue to be mean and nasty. We Americans are a sorry bunch of angry people. Just yesterday someone was killed do to road rage (in White Marsh, MD.) Keep the stickers. Keep WHATEVER you want on YOUR car. I suggest if you DO remove the stickers pick up a "NRA" (National Rifle Association) sticker and put a couple on your car. I NEVER screw with ANYONE that has those stickers on their vehicles.

Be safe.

I just think its the fact that people, the majority, are stupid...

Road rage is really stupid because people get nothing accomplished and if they are yelling at you because they think you are going too fast, its probably just because their cars start shuttering when they hit 60 and it makes them mad... (and they are probably already late and in a bad mood anyway because they want to be going faster)

anyway... drive like ya want and unless the people flaging ya down are cops... (in the words of chef)

Hey donít talk about my Focus like that! J/k I know what you mean. I cant believe that jack ass what a moron trying to run you off the road man I would of gotten of and used one of my 5-D flashlights and bet the hell out his car for doing such a stupid thing like that. People like that shouldn't have a license. Well at least he didn't hit you and nothing that bad came out of it except for you being mad. Glad you ok.

I think he was just envious of you and your car. Don't let it get to you...one of the things you'll have to get used to when driving a machine as fine as the Subaru

Wow, that's a pretty messed up story. I've seen people flip me off or generally give me an angry look sometimes, but to follow you is a different story altogether. I'm selling all my personal belongings and moving up to the top of a mountain to be a hermit...

Really, though, be who and what you want to be. If this jerk has a problem with you and/or your car, it's his problem to have. If you see him again and he does the same sorts of stuff, get his license plate number and take legal action. Personally, I'd have hunted him down and assaulted him...

Don't worry Jamie, we still love you... And if you get rid of your car for anything other than a MY00 RS or GT we will have to kill you (well, unless you get something like a Evo -cough- )

People are just stupid... He probably had a bad day and was taking it out on you... people like that probably go home and take it out on their wives and children too... We should feel sorry for them, not feel sorry for your decals...

Cheer Up! It is not your fault...

SubieGal - cell phone!

Call the cops on the ba*tard. And quite honestly, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to tell them that there's a psycho waving a gun while driving. Chances are, they'll arrive quickly. 1) that a$$hole was just as dangerous and threatening as someone with a gun, and 2) if they later find no gun on him (if they even bother searching), you can simply claim he was waving something which you perceived to be a gun.

Don't get mad, just try to get 'em in trouble...

This bothers you? I guess the west coast is different. In NYC, and NJ, that is a common occurance, you either kick the other people's ass or you let it roll off. I encounter that about 2x or 3x a day when driving in rush hour traffic.

The fault was totally his; corssing into an exit lane, probably without actually LOOKING there to make sure it was clear.

Jerks are everywhere. I found a gas station on Dempster on my way home that had gas for 2.09 (! Great deal considering the average on my normal route is 2.25). There was a line of three or four cars at each pump, and I was behind an old guy who took a long time to get filled up. I never heard so much grousing and complaining drifting down through my sunroof as people behind me yelled at this guy to hurry up.

thanks guys... the thing is...

SOMEONE contacted 1 of my sponsors earlier this week... stating that i "drive too fast"
(hmmmmmmm.... ) and that every time they saw my car they were gonna report me to the police???? whaaaaaaaat???

and...

I have a road rage violation on my record. the only violation on my record... was road raged... over a year ago... no witnesses... I called the cops cuz the psycho snapped my antenna... they couldn't determine who's story to believe... issued us BOTH tickets... we went to court... same issue there... judge said obviously we had issues w/each other... obviously we were mad... obviuosly we were both guilty...!! now.. i had to pay a $480 road rage fine.. and have a 2nd deg. negligent driving ticket on my record!!!! shiiiiiiiiiii...... oh and.. this clown didn't show up for the 2nd day of court and ended up getting arrested on a warrant at a later date... yeah... I was the liar here....

i can't go through that again...

so that's why i didn't doooo anything this morning.. i did get his license ## and of COUSE i do realize that his piddly-little-sorry-azz-Saab is a total substitution for the penis he never got....

u guys rock!!! thanks for listening...

Screw that guy. I myself enjoy a little road rage, sort of a challenge!

I suggest you buy one more sticker that reads, "Keep Honking, I'm Reloading!"....

Cheer up and keep a Glock in the glove compartment!

Have a Nice Day?

Subie Gal, I get the feeling he was thinking you were just a stupid woman who cannot drive. Before everyone starts screaming...there are bunches of people male or female that can't drive as we all know. That guy in his miniscule mind was probably just pissed because a woman could accelerate faster and pass him!

Next time, call the cops and telling them this mad man wants to hit your car for nothing and you are feared for your and other's life. Get the plate number and report to them. I bet he will have some explaining to do when cops got him.

West Coast = Comunists

A road rage ticket w/o an officer witness would never fly in the Northeast!

That blows.

I'd have like 100 road rage tickets. i find a little road rage at the beginning of a long trip gets the adreneline flowing.

Two Words: Screw Him
He's probably feeling repressed (read: driving a Saab) and is taking it out on people like you who live life like it's suposed to be...
(as for the two words....not literally...)

I'm a VERY nice guy, but stupid people doing that kind of stuff and getting me all worked up for nothing...I'll hurt them. I think I would have gone crash course with him. And if I don't think he had enough then I'll hunt the sucker down. Quote "Please don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" from the Incredible Hulk series. He is my favorite character because I am in some way like that with my rage. It's a curse really. I'm still a VERY nice guy.

sorry to what happened to you SubieGal. I hope you don't run into him again. And if he does tries to hit you, let us know again and maybe some of us can do something about it
Any volunteers? heheheh

What an azzhole. He said you were dangerous, but yet he decides to try run off the road drive on a shoulder near construction. All because you are a total babe driving better and with a way cooler car than him and his wuss-mobile. Don't change a thing. You rock! If he works where you do I'm sure you should have no problem finding some dude to go and give the buisness. I'm sure many guys on this board what beat the crap out of him for you in a sec.

Hmmmmm. Saab driver you say. I thought only people who drive Volvo's were complete and utter morons. I guess it's all Swedish cars. He probably felt inadequate. C'mon, he drives a $40,000 front wheel drive car!!
Profile of typical Saab driver:
sex: Male
age: 29-45
hair: chrome dome(thinks car will get chicks)
automotive knowledge: Limited, what he can get from his subscription to GQ and what he can learn in the parking lot of IKEA trying to stuff that too large piece of furniture into his $40K pseudo-hatchback.
marital status: but ugly wife who stays home watching the kids.
driving ability: obviously none, c'mon he drives a Saab!
hopes and dreams:to move out of middle management so he won't fear the next round of layoffs when cutbacks happend.

Cool

I agree with the earlier idea. Put NRA stickers all over your car, and a bumper sticker that says "F*$k with me and I will kill your whole family" or something like that. Most of the "road rage" people in this world are cowards.
