Yeah, that's about right.

Post Traffic School! Where to go?

I hear Oakland Traffic school lets their students out in an hour. Can it be beat? (i.e., is there something like this in the South Bay?)

Internet traffic school is out because the redneck court in Willows, CA denied my request for a quality online learning experience.

TIA for any help!

Question

Um, aren't we supposed to legally attend like 8hrs of traffic school? Which means that 1hr is kinda illegal?

No legitmate school will let you go early, but I think the comedy or magic school would keep me awake for the eight hours.

Do it at gotaticket.com! It works the same as any other traffic school and it can take only twenty minutes. You skim through a review sheet and take the test. If you get 18 out of 25 you pass. They send the courts a certificate in the mail and you done. I am always telling my friends not to waste their time with traffic school and I have to convince them to do it online. It is the best way to go.

Unhappy Uggg, my turn

Oh man, it's my turn. I got a speeding ticket in San Ramon, and after I paid the $170, I finally got the traffic school info.

So how do I know if I am able to take a class online? None of the paperwork shows that it is available to me. BTW, it's the Walnut Creek court, belonging to the County of Contra Costa.

If I can't take it online, where (closest to Castro Valley) in the Bay Area can I take the class for cheapest/fastest that is legitmate? I heard good things about the Chinatown one. Anywhere else?

Thanx guys!

i got a ticket in san ramon too a while ago while tuning unichip with shiv, and got popped.

i went to court last week and the lovely commissioner golub, dropped my fine from $335 to $281 with 60 days to pay and traffic school, from the other people in court there was no allowance of internet traffic schools.

Im wondering if it makes a difference when they recieve the certificate, in other words its something they say to the public, but if you actually go through with it and dont ask or state that you went to internet traffic school it will pass no problem.

mountainwrx- let me know what you find, maybe we can attend together, lol.

im open to any traffic school in contra costa county, as long as its not boring, and a bit flexible.

thanks

Lightbulb TRAFFIC SCHOOL

If you guys just want to be better safe then sorry, and just take the 8 hours of bordum i would suggest NSTI in san jose (4th and julian) the teacher there is hella nice and she "gives" you the answers to the test. (you'll know why, if you go there why i put Quotes on Give) but yea it keeps you awake and it is BUTT EASY.

just a suggestion guys, just trying to look out for ya'll

good luck

shiv-

not literally, but we were in san ramon getting our unichips tuned, by you, besides it doesnt make a difference, it would have either been ken or me, and it turned out to be me, so its cool.

The $300 is gonna hurt! I could have used it towards dyno time, injector install, 2wd conversion, or something, i just hate giving the government money.

Its kind of ridiculous if you think about it, they milk you for money up front (the fee for the violation), then you get a point on your record (if you cant go to traffic school), which in turn gets more money out of you when you go to renew insurance, and then the next time you get pulled over, your more likely to get a ticket because your record isnt clean!

Its just ridiculous, and you have a better chance of winning the lottery than winning in traffic court.

frustration!

It begginging to sound like the banking industry: "transaction fee" "service charge" "withdrawl fee" paper work fee" "fee fee fee" LOL.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
its a very simple concept, by the way thats why when you go to court you see the guys name tag it doesnt say "judge" hes a "commissioner"

break that word down and you get: "commission"=fee=money, and "er"=one to commission.

in other words someone to tax that a$$.

Enjoy!

Talking

I got my ticket way back in May in Dublin. Went to Oakland China Town traffic school and got out within 3hrs. The instructor was funny as hell and he didn't hint he was going to let us off until he confirmed that nobody from any government agencies was present. Well worth it

Thumbs up I'm Down

I'm down with Oaktown. But I need to go ASAP, like this weekend if possible. I need to renew/shop for new insurance coverage these 2 upcoming weeks and I need a clean record ASAP if you know what I mean.

Anybody down for this sat? I'll have to give them a call to see how many spots they have open.

Default More Info

NEVERMIND, I may not go to the Chinatown one anymore (see later post).

Alrighty, called around the places that offer traffic school closest to me, CV, and the Oakland Chinatown one.

Here's what I concluded (since I want to get the class over with ASAP)... the Chinatown one is for $30, supposed "9am-5pm" (but hey! If they let me out sooner.. I ain't complaining!!! ), Chinese (cantonese) one on Sat 12th, and English on Sun the 13th. I plan on taking the one one Sat, even tho I only know just some chinese. I heard that if you ask questions in English, they answer in English. There is no test, they just give you a certificate. Also heard that this class has mostly 40 year olds, with some teenagers. Don't really care, just want it over with.

Dunno how the rest of you guys feel about going to a cantonese class. Haa haa Heard that you can even sleep in there if you'd like.

invisibleman?
joltdudeuc?
anyone else?

BTW.. you have to call and sign up.

Hey guys !

One quick question for you !

Maybe you already read one of my previous post regarding a ticket i got on the 17.

Anyway, i received my stuff by mail $300. Ouch !

Like i said in my previous post, i wasnt going that fast (For real !).

On my ticket (Yellow paper that the cops gave me) it says that i need to appear in court this wednesday but no hour is indicated.

How does this thing work ?

I was hopping to go there and get my fine reduced.
(I want to tell the Judge that i was speeding but there is no way i was doing 80 in a 50 zone. I will tell him that i ask the cops for the Radar reading and he wasnt able to show it to me)

Do i need to go there and wait all day until they call my name ?
Do i need to ask the judge to go to traffic school or it will be done automatically ?

I really dont know how it works here ! (Just arrived from Canada)

Thanks for your help guys !

Go to wherever the ticket says to go. Get there at the posted time (call ahead). Wait in line...request a hearing date.
you can straight out request a court date, post bail and be on your way to.
the hearing date is to plea guilty, no contest or innocent. THIS is the time to speak up to the judge and say,"i ain't got no job to pay that much" he'll drop the fine to some lower amount and send you to traffic school.

I remember getting out early in Chinatown traffic school. I don't remember exactly but I think it was 4 or 5 hours. (this is the one next to Renaissance Plaza) I took the Cantonese class even though my Cantonese isn't so good. heh They don't verify if you know Cantonese or not, but you do have to be Chinese (or I guess you can speak fluent Cantonese to them). It was pretty funny, when I was taking it there was this white guy and he wanted to take my class and the instructor said that this class is in Cantonese. He said he didn't mind but they still wouldn't let him take it.
