Even the towels get powered by STI. When are our cars going to be powered by STI that's all the performance I want. Think I'll hold off on the huge SPT decals.

If you read what my message said before I changed it, I take it back...

I'm all over those SPt decals baby!

Actually, a Genuine Subaru short-shifter sounds really inviting... wonder what the price is though...

It's SOA'a answer to TRD.

Thir first products were the Impreza Performance muffler (they sold two, I own one of them), the Carbon fiber and the leather seats.

If it is the same STi Short Shifters that I and others sell they ran from about $250.00 -$300.00 depending on who you baught them from. Of course this price was based on most of us getting our stuff straight from Japan, I wold hope that they are being purchased and sold based on our economy here...

I love mine, but you may want to look at the Kartboy Shifter, his price I beleive is under $100.00 or something in that area.

They probably chose "SPT" as their name because people in North America wouldn't be able to understand STi -- Subaru Technica International -- they'd ask -- what the heck is "Technica"?

I guess the SPT thing is a way of distinguishing it from the STi brand.

Two possible reasons:

1) Americans are too dumb to figure out what "Subaru Technica International" is.

2) SOA and SOJ want to make sure there is a clear distinction. SPT will focus on basic parts and STi will continue giving out the good stuff.

I'm leaning towards no. 1...but SPT isn't too bad. It could have been worse..."Subaru Tuner Gear" or something.

Remember SPD is taken... (Good ol' Mike)

But still the stuff currently out for SPT pales in comparison to what is out for TRD. Not to mention the other stuff out in the aftermarket and the homegrown stuff too.

I mean heck, we're comparing the Kartboy shifter to the SPT shifter (and most of us will say the Karboy version is better.)

Nah... it's not vague enough.

Personally I'm all for getting one of those STi keychains and maybe even the shifter. I talked to the parts guy at my dealership today and he said that yeah they were expecting STi catalogs soon so they could order that stuff for us here as well.

Hey, how much is that full front cover for?
The Brau I should say.

The nice thing is that we can use these parts and still be in Stock Classs in SCCA SoloII, like the STI strut tower bar. Dodge does the same thing. They have their Mopar Performance parts side. Now they need to come out with a bigger sway bar.

I'm not sure why the muffler is so pricey but it is not the SOJ/STi muffler. It is made by Brospeed for SOA to use (and Brospeed IS expensive).

The reason it's 400-odd instead of 300-odd is because it comes with the intermediate pipe (the same thing you can buy from Stromung for $57, which is about how much it is from SOA).

$566.10 for the STi Carbon Fiber strut tower bar? That's cheaper than the importers are selling it for. Interesting note: They mention Carbon Fiber / Aluminum yet the STi bar is supposed to be Carbon Fiber / Titanium. Misprint or "cheaper" bar?

To the best of my knowledge, the leather interior is not available. I tried to order it a few months ago (when I ordered my RS) and heard from the dealer that SOA (Subaru of America) had quality issues with it so they killed it. (BTW: I think that's a gutsy move that shows corporate character. Other corporations might have just sold a crappy product.)

This may be old info though. Received a copy of a very similar brochure from SOA, but it didn't say SPT on it (older I assume). I'm glad to see they're starting a performance division.

I also second the comment on making the SVX (is that the right name?) supercharger availaable. SOA are you listening?

FYI: I have the Brospeed muffler. I think it should be stock on this car. My first impression was that it was too quiet, but gives the RS a nice, understated-but-deeper tone. I've heard (or rather read) about people complaining that the RS was too growly. (I believe there was a comment about an agitated Lasa Apso. (SP?) Non-Scooby fans, no doubt.) The Brospeed muffler makes the growl a little deeper and makes the sound come from the the rear of the car as well as the engine compartment. (Say maybe... a Great Dane in the back yard?
