Talking Deadbolt Monster VF22 users chime in please.

I'm stuck on what turbo to go with. I was thinking a monster vf34....but i'm waiting on compressor maps for the new PE1418....

Now though i'm thinking of a monster vf22. Just wondering at what RPM you guys are seeing boost?

My understanding is that it will give just about the same about of power as a stock td04 down low, but then give you a nice kick in the pants when it hits...

any opinions are appreciated.

thanks.

ditto on pm to deadbolt and you may also pm some of the tuners on the board about their opinions... my assumption is that the VF22 would have substantially more top end and total horsepower... the pe1418 will spool faster, produce more power than stock but should come out short on the top end... it just isn't big enough to keep up... so it depends on what you are looking for.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a compressor map for any of the PE turbos... very few vendors disribute that information.

i'm thinking that if the monster 22 can give me as much power as a stage 3 td04 can before it (the 22) comes on boost....i'm happy.

I read one of deadbolts posts and he said that at about 9PSI the 22 flows more than a td04 does at 14.7

Anone know of really good prices for the Vf22. Also what else would i need for this turbo to really bang! I have TBE, Uppipe, and IC hoses and cobb stage2.

Would i need an upgraded Intercooler. Those bad larry's are expensive!

I'll have to wait for an Accessport and for cobb to make a specific vf22 map. I'm also considering the vf34. How about that TD05 16g deadbolt sells?

Anyone have any personal experiance?

XX Tuning has the VF22 for $625 shipped or cheaper if you pick it up.

much more important than an intercooler would be fuel pump and injectors and tuning for your set up... if you starve your car for fuel with your new turbo... you will have a lot bigger expense than an intercooler.

does anyone have an off the shelf map for a vf22? I do not want to even attempt tuning with a utec, and there are no places within a 6-8 hour drive that can tune a car.I would like an ecutek reflash or something like that.

Deadbolt (Enterprises?) is a vendor on here that takes some of the turbos and rebuilds/ports them to increase their performance.

it is worth the 6-8 hour drive an off the shelf map is no substitute for having done right the first time.

Yeah, but I need a semi useable map to get there don't I? I can't just bolt a big ass turbo, injectors and such on and get on I-10 and drive there.

A utec already has maps for certain stages so you dont have to worry about driving 6-8 hours for a tune. Just ask anyone on here to help you with your tuning or call turboxs or worldoneperformance and they can help you with anything related to utec.
