Post TRACK DAY UPDATE: Please check out.

First, Alex, sorry for caps

Can you/will you folks do a >>weekday<< Track Day? Friday probably. Weekends are full thru December.

What do we get: The 3-mile track, flaggers, a
control person, auto practice insurance, ambulance, lunch package, day long
drinks, some tents for shade, tow, radios, emergency responce, registration,
release forms, wrist bands, driver's orientation meeting and flag training.

This brings the cost up to $6,250 (above what I had heard) but I'm ditching the lunch/drinks option which will save us cash and I will get creative to pull it down more. This rate is for 20-40 cars.

I'm working with Thunderhill to get this done to our best advantage.

More soon.

20 people with the full package means 300 each. Considering that's two VERY open run groups, it works out to something like 4 hours of track time per group.

I'd easily cough up 300 with 19 other people for a Friday (monday?) track day. The 3 mile thunderhill loop is a lot of fun, pretty fast, and really safe with lots of open run off space. My only reservation is that we dont do it until after July..

As you could have guessed, I am in. You should post on the SoCal Board as well. We may be able to get several SoCal Scoobies up here.

With only 20 people, 4 hours of track time that may be almost too much. I forsee melted tires all over the track, not to mention that we are not experienced enough to hold the appropriate amount on concentration for that long of a time. We should really try for 30-40 people.

What I really mean by four hours is 12 20 minute sessions.. But yes, essentially, more track time than you'll really want to use.

Enough track time to run a 'timed' lap or 5, come in, make some suspension changes, and go back out. This rules.

Hello,

Damn, I'm going to have to buy some of those 100,000 mile warranty tires I'd be in for it. Anyone have spare race tires? Like Joe said, after July would be ideal. And check out the race schedule since there are many 2 day events in August. Oh yeah, and have we decided on whether this will be a scooby-exclusive event? Damn. I'd love to have T-hill pretty much to ourselves.

Thumbs up

Yeah! I dig it...sounds like a total blast to me.

I think some SoCal Scooby folks should get the word too, that way we can get closer to a good number. Also, I was wondering the same thing Joel...Scoobies only? Sure I would prefer it that way but if we have trouble getting enough people...
