Default V6 STI longblock in an 04 WRX: Car won't start

Ok here's the deal. I just got done installing my V6 STI RA long block on my 04 WRX and the car won't start.

I've checked everything. Delta Dash reads positive values for all sensors and Injectors. And no codes. Coils are connected and everything is plugged in. Motor has good compression.

I am tired and can't think of anything else.

Any THought?

Thanks
Spanky

Ask me.... if all else checks out... it's a cam or crank timing sprocket issue.

v.VI is a GC8, which IIRC used a different timing sprocket then a GDA/B (on the RS's at least)

Does it act like it wants to start at least? Sort of cranks but just won't turn over.... If so.. make sure you didn't flip flop your fuel lines... I did and it took me a lil bit to figure out why the sucker wouldn't turn over. The engine itself isn't any different than the GDA's here as far as I know. Definitely check the timing though. Which ECU are you using?

Did the v6 have AVCS? If so... and if you're not using an STi ecu.. unplug it!

Did you verify that the timing was alined properly? As others have asked, what ECU are you using?

Hrm.... Double check the fuel lines for sure... If you crossed the return it'll try to start but never kick over for obvious reasons. I could have kicked myself when I reallized that's why it wouldn't start...

One REAAAALLLLLY obvious thing... do you have a voltage reader? I had to jumpstart my new engine.... battery had sat for a while when I was working on it... If your volts are below 12... jump start the sucker then kick yourself for not thinking of it. (Yet another thing I ran into when doing my engine swap)

V6 motors IIRC are pre 2001 which have different crank trigger.

Changed a timing belt with the motor in the car before? sounds like a nice time to pratice.

Imprezd~

P.S. doesn't sound like he used the v6 ecu since he running delta dash and it has to be setup for that certain ecu... at least that my understanding of their licensing program

V6 also don't use the same coil setup, another possible problem.

Which ECU you using?

Never used NOS never will. Blew both head gaskets from detonation.

Turned out to be the crank sproket and Cam sproket. Both had to be swapped over from my stock motor.

The Ver.6 GC8 uses less definition (fewer points) on the cam and crank sensors, so I swapped both over to the 04' parts and it's all good.

Yeah but the motor proceeded to self-destruct on itself in no time flat. Oh well. Here we go again.
