Talking OT: Gone in 7.9 seconds.

I just saw that movie and it was cool seeing all those pretty little cars. But whats with that Riced out Civic racing the Porche. I mean it was a nice looking civic but for it to come remotely close to the Porche? The road was all wet even. AWD vs FWD. I laughed my arse off!!

Actually im SUPRISED the porsche won!!!

As stated in the movie, that Porsche Turbo ran only 5.1 seconds 0-60..

An Average (Turbo) Civic (that was an Si Btw) can run about 4.8 seconds..

They didn't say in the movie that it was a turbo!!!!-5.2sec to 60 is a C2 996
the new 996 Turbo runs close to 4sec if not under that. mmmmmmm-4ssseconddssss

It was not a turbo Either-I don't even think it was a C4. Just a new 996 C2- that would spank any civic---Unless it was heavely modded-and then it would have it's hands full.

A Porsche is just a compleatly different animal.Arrarrrarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr(toolman style)

umm... NO, that civic wouldn't hang with it. They stressed the engine sounds alot in that movie, I think we woulda heard the BOV when he revved. And no, that wasn't a turbo Porsche. Besides, it seemed that Kip was egging the guy in the civic on, and wasn't really trying. IMO, it was a shot at all the ricers, making fun of them. Same with the "These aren't Honda Civic's" line.

It is just a movie. The race ended as the writers decided. Besides, anyone with a 996 C2 or C4(not the 996 Turbo) who races a Drag Gen III'd Si had better be on their toes just to keep up. You can't argue with 290 hp and 190 ft-lbs to the ground, and 2600 pounds.

I *still* went and saw this movie after reading some reviews. Luckily it only cost me $4.75 at a matinee, but damn did I feel ripped off. Only about 60 seconds of car time in the whole move (other than the Mustang scene towards the end).

I am in FULL agreeance with the comments from wolve80, "IMO, it was a shot at all the ricers, making fun of them. Same with the "These aren't Honda Civic's" line."
Now that I think about it they did seem to make a point out of mocking them a few times....

It was a shot at the ricers. Just like the intro to NFS High Stakes. Real cars real fast.

Seriously how many fast civics do u see cruising around town anyways? Most if not virtually all are plastic tack ons than really fast civics that can give a Porsche a run for its money.

What the hell is 190ft/lbs going to do? 290HP, thats great, but its not going to get off the line quicker. I can't believe anyone here is comparing that Porsche to that POS Honduh.....WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!
