Unhappy Help, squeaking noise from a 04 STI clutch pedal

I have a 04 STI with less than 1000 kilometers on it, it was great till yesterday. The weather is getter colder in Toronto. Now when I step on the clutch, it is making a squeaking noise. I am sure that the noise is from the lever inside. This is very annoying. When I drive the car a bit, the squeaking noise will go away. Does anyone get any idea to this? I believe I have warranty on this. If it's not a big issue and I can fix it myself, I don't want to bring the car back for warranty. Any ideas? Thanks.

2004 2.5RS here, started squeaking ever since the weather got a little colder. I'm going to the dealership next week for it. They need to fix that POS tranny anyways.

The lever goes trough a rubber channel via the firewall.

Take a look and lube it, it's on the gaz pedal side.

If you can't figure it out, jump in the lake.

Phil =)

Default Welcome to the Club!

Welcome to the wonderful word of Subaru. Clutch squeeking has been a nuance issue with a lot of Subaru's especially those driven in colder climates. My MY00RS does it somestimes in the winter. Some say you need to lubricate the ball-pivot point of the clutch fork, I guess it can't hurt, but becareful not to get any grease down into your clutch!!!

Cheers,
Chad
