Exclamation Oil Leaking! help!

hey guys, was just referred over here by someone I know, because im having problems with my outback. here goes:

In our 1999 Outback w/ the 2.5L H4 DOHC and 5-speed, oil is leaking out. The oil seems to be coming from the back of the block, right where the crank ends (i believe this is where it would end, its after the heads + stuff, and is in the middle). The oil then drips ONTO the exhaust right after the headers/where they combine into one pipe and then it well, burns up resulting in smoke + burning smell o' death.
the oil only leaks after the car has been driven and then the leak goes away. It also seems to leak quite a bit of oil as its registering just below the minimum on the dipstick. Im having the oil changed tonight and am going to ask if they can see where its leaking from.

We also jsut had a service done at subaru, for $1500 or something, and they changed EVERYTHING, including a front gasket that was also leaking. that is no longer leaking, and since we could easily see that leak, we assumed that that leak was teh cause of the oil dripping onto the exhaust (it happened before, i dont know if it stopped). I cant see this place easily at all, as it is behind a skidplate thing.

Anyone got any ideas whats going on?

There seem to be quite a few people with oil leaks related to the dreaded leaky headgasket or other reasons. I personally had two. Check the thread below for quite a bit of info...
