Following on from the exellent discusion on seatbelt safety.
I think this one is just as relevent. Do any of you guys cary a dog or trunk monkey in the rear of your car without having some restraint system like a wire mesh guard? Here's a point to bear in mind. In a 30MPH dead stop crash, the average dog will hit you with the same effective weight as an elephant. You being strapped well in with your seatbelt, will suffer a posible broken kneck or crushed ribs as the dog ploughs into the back of your seat or head. It's the same effect if you have unbelted rear seat passengers. Make sure they belt up for YOUR safety, if they are dumb enough to not care about their own safety, care about yourself! Finaly, take a look on the rear parcel shelf of your car, do you have any objects laying there that in the event of an impact will turn into a deadly missile, i bet quite a few of you have! Take care out there and be safe. ![]() john

I have a Boston Terrier. She rides in the back seat and she has a harness that utilizes the seatbelt. I want the dog to be safe too.
Hey Kartboy, I saw a picture of your Boston on your website. Cool dogs, aren't they? Jeremy |
