Question Wheel stud replacement...

Hey Guys...

Rally coming up on the weekend and between work and sleeping I have nearly no time to get things prepped on the car...

I've got a wheel stud that's got a cross threaded nut on it, and it aint budging either way... so looks like i'll have to cut it and remove the stud and replace the new one.... relativly how easy is this to do??? I figured seeing as how I haven't a lot of time I'd just take it to a shop... any recommends for a place in richmond or very close by? I'll just have day insurance on friday and i've still got gravel tires on so I dont want to drive too far with them on..

any suggestions?? either on how to do it myself or on a decent place to have it done for me????

oh.. it's on a 1990 Subaru legacy sedan

Is it a front wheel or a rear wheel? I believe one one of them, you can replace the stud without having to remove the whole hub assembly. Talk to the people up @ Total or the service department @ Subaru.

Good luck!

the rear wheel.... the left rear...

I'll guess I'll try calling the dealers/total to see what they say...

I think the guys down at total have replaced wheel studs before you should get a hold of them
and I think there is a tool that will crack(split) a nut ,not sure if it will work on a lug nut though
