Post I feel like crying, *sniffle*

Even though it turns out that I will not be able to afford a new car, I am just so happy to see the WRX in the US. I can't believe it. I have been rooting for this car for so long. I have to admit I did not know what it was before GT, but since the first time I saw it and 'drove' it I fell in love with it. The Lancer was the same on paper but didn't have the "soul" of a Pimpreza. The flat four, the profile, the front fog lights, the rally wins, the cool alpha-mumbo-jumbo names (Impreza WRX-STi Type RA Version VI V-Limited - YEEEEAH). The turbo Impreza has always been the Peoples' Performance Car, in Japan you could get a 276bhp base WRX for $17k, in Europe the 215bhp costs less than a 318i. Claimed 0-60 for the measly 215 bhp was 6.2, but it always tested at 5.4 secs - that is insane. The Peoples car. The lancer is much more expensive...

Since before the rumors started (what, about 18 mos ago?) I have been dreaming about this car. I love how it looks, how it sounds. I feel like a parent who has seen his son grow up to become president. The Impreza WRX is here - praise the lord....

all I can say is..congratulations.. you have finally joined the rest of the world..well..Japan, Europe and Australia, and I hope you enjoy and cherish what the WRX brings. I also hope it get the same respect and positive attention that it has gained here. Another positive about the WRX entering the US market is the future availability of aftermarket parts. More manufacturers mean more choices, and more competition, thus (maybe) lowering prices without losing quality. anywa..drive safely.. but have fun too
