Thumbs up Thumbs up to Mike Shields and SPD!

Hey Guys and Gals...
I just got back from SPD in redondo beach...
I went down there to get my Stromung Dual today, I can't wait to put it on the car and check out the sound. It's too bad that I gotta let the stock exhaust cool down ... anyone have a really thick gloves I can borrow!?

Anyway, I spend upwards of 350 for the exhaust but rarely have I spent that kinda cash and time and gotten a better deal. Mike is really cool, a storehouse of information on Subaru technology. Got to drive the P1 suspension that's on his car - incredible... wish I was a better driver so that I could have appreciated it more. Saw a WRX engine, loads of wheels/tires, sti stuff... he took a lot of time to answer my questions and explain how a lot of cool car parts work and the finer points of tuning and driving...

I made out like a bandit - even got a straight from Japan WRX brochure...

Anyway, just wanted to spread the good word!
Thanks Mike!

I also had a great experience buying from him. He calls back, wants to talk about what you plan on doing with your car, and is a very nice guy (my experience was all over the phone) I was not making the biggest purchase in the world but he still gave me a lot of attention and seems to care about what he does. Buy stuff from him!

Cool

Yep I agree guys. I purchased my 18mm bar, stainless Stromung muff and midpipe from SPD Tuning and Mike was great. He takes the time to talk to you about the parts and what they will and won't do for your car. He called me back long distance and spent as much time with me on the phone as I needed in order to make an educated decision on my parts. His prices are competitive too. Consider me a loyal customer!

This is something that occupies my thought whenever people complain about the non-availability or run-around of getting Impreza turbos working...

Last I recall, Mike Shields doesn't sell a turbo. It seems its true because I believe he's never sold crap products, and he's always supported his products with quick and detailed help when people need installation or operation instructions.

If he's not selling a turbo, I'm guessing/betting that it means that there aren't any out there that have met his expectations.

I wonder if he's been thinking about reselling Shiv's TEC-II though. So far I've only heard good things about it... Then again it looks like Shiv spends enough time here to be able to support the product well enough, and he has an extremely positive reputation on top of that.

Thumbs up

I'll go ahead and add my name into the mix of satisfied customers. I purchased a bunch of stuff from mike awhile back. He matched prices from others and shipped much sooner than anyone else was going to. All parts were packaged very well and were received in perfect condition.

Mike does have extensive knowledge of Subaru and is always willing to share it. Great guy all around.
