Cool 18s on an Outback

I know that some folks think that an Outback isn't meant for what I am doing, but it is what I have and what I will be driving for at least 5 more years (so I am told!).

I know that there are a few of you who may be interested....

I just got a set of 18 x 7.5 BSA's with 225/40/18 P7000 from the classifieds here at NASIOC. The tires are too short, but I plan to sell those, and put on a set of 235 or 245/45/18s next year. Now if the aftermarket would just give me a decent strut to go with the Whiteline springs...

Have a look near the bottom of page 20 in the "Bling Bling Legacies" thread in the Legacy Forum.

Thanks to Sybir for hosting...

Talking

Wow, that looks really nice.

I will post new photos of my '03 Outback.

How much is your drop again?
Not a lot of people choose to modify the Outback, so I respect what you did.

Default Thanks!

I have the Whiteline 'Control' springs which are advertised as a 30mm drop. Mine ended up @ 40 in front and 45 + in back!!!

(also, the front #70366, are not correct for US cars. Whiteline is sending a new set that supposedly fits)

The new tires are also very short. I was told that they were 225/45/18, but they are 40 series (making them @ 1.5" shorter than stock). All of this puts the car more than 2" lower than stock. It looks great, and handles quite well for a big car (I'm used to a much modified miata). I'm holding out for one of the new turbo legacy models that are supposedly on the horizon. For that reason, I won't buy anything that won't crossover....

The reason for me driving this car is a bit of a long story. I would not have chosen this car to modify, but it is taking to the mods quite well!
