Cobb Tuning is releasing their AccessPORT next year, and pre-orders are being taken. This will let you load ten (10) maps into the stock ECU *without removing it or physically accessing it in any way*, and let you switch between them on-the-fly. Custom maps can be downloaded via laptop into the AccessPORT, and loaded alongside other maps via the diagnostic port in your dash.

They are working on a Stage 2 map that will be STX-legal for autocrossers. This keeps boost stock, but still uses the extra power available via the stage mods. This is already being used by some of the early takers of AccessECU reflashes, but they are stuck changing ECUs for every race until AccessPORT comes out. All maps will be available *free* for use with the AccessPORT, including any adjustments someone has made.

You could run (an example of ten maps one could have):
Stage 2 91 octane,Stage 2 93 octane,Stage 2 race fuel,Stage 2 AutoX,Stage 1 91 octane,Stage 1 93 octane,Stage 1 race fuel,valet mode,anti-theft mode,limp-home mode

You could switch between them at any time by connecting to the diagnostics port in the dash, choosing your map, and then disconnecting the AccessPORT until a later date when you wanted to change maps again.

The problem with STX class is that you *must* run street tires. So if you're going to do power mods, suspension, and a reflash, why not keep the extra power you get with a reflash, AND run on slicks (or R-compounds, whatever)?

The answer: budget. It's not for everyone, but I thought I would put it out there.

Also, the AccessPORT "marries" to your ECU, so you can only use it on one WRX, until you "divorce" that car back to stock.

price is $555
