Bah, my local Advance Auto doesn't have it. I'll write down the part number (74539 will do for them?) and try to make them get a set. Otherwise, I'll have to find another place and go for a drive, or settle for something else. They do have hella 500s for $64, how do those compair to the FF1000s?

update: just called them. damn I hate tlaking to clueless people. I guess I'll just have to go in my self tomarow and see if the one guy who knows anything can help me out.

Does anyone remotely near me have a store with the set in stock? I'd be happy to go for a drive to find a pair.

Default Correct page for Advanced Auto avalibility

Since the javascript for the link is broken on partsamerica.com , just enter this into your browser as long as you have already input your zipcode:

After my expirence last evening, I would say dont bother with Advanced Auto.

After the website told me the 1000s were in stock at all of the stores in my area, I took a 30 minuite drive to the nearest one. The shelf was empty and when the guy behind the counter looked up stock on it, he told me no one in the area has it and it could not be ordered. If I was reading the screen over his sholder correctly, there is 1 in Roanoke, VA. I am in NJ.

I am going to order from rallylights.com since they seem to have an excellent reputation.

I just order the Hella 4000s from www.rallylights.com the other day. They should be here in a week. The website isn't the best but it works, I got comfirmation of my order the same day. They seems to have a very good reputation on this board so I went with them, besides they hads the best price on the 4000's

I had the same experiece today. It seems there is no way I can get them for the TSD. It sucks. How good are the 500's if mounted on the front grill?

the 500s are ok, the driving pattern is pretty narrow though. Depending on what you want out of them, choosing the fog pattern maybe better. I mainly need them during night time canyon running, but the range of the driving lights is lost among the walls, and seeing into the corners becomes more important, thats why I am adding to the Hella 4000s to my lighting armoury. Adding the FF1000s would have been nice but oh well.

Thumbs down So I sent partsamerica.com an email...

Here is the response I got back from them. Note that the shelf at advanced auto had the $69.88 price listed and I had never visited their site before so it was not a cookie issue:

We thank you for visiting PartsAmerica.com and appreciate you taking the time to
contact us . Unfortunately, at this time I could not duplicate your issue. When I went
to Hella they did not mention a price for this part number. We have no idea how
this price($69.88) got into your system, but it is not one that was ever priced for
this part number. One thought is that it might have gotten caught up in your cookies.
The only way that we could price match would if we could verify that price with
another web site.

We thank you again for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you in the
future. If there is any further assistance we can provide, please contact us via
email or toll-free at (877) 808-0698. Sincerely, Dave Customer Service Team

Default 2nd PartsAmerica Reply

Just got another reply. Seems Advanced Auto Parts updated their prices in the store to $69.88 this weekend and the infomation mistakenly made it into partsamerica - the price is only supposed to be for the brick and morter locations. So at lest that explains the price, but not why the "in stock" indicators are completely incorrect.

So, if anyone can find any in their local stores, the $69.88 price will apply. But it does not look like too many units are out there to be purchased.

I sent Hella a note mentioning that this all reflects rather poorly on them since they have a direct link to partsamerica.com and mention special pricing until Dec 5th.

I'm going to mount a full-scale attack on local AAPs tomorrow, but if none have the lights in stock, is the price on the website (via hella's link) of $109 the best I can hope for?

If 109 is the best you can do i would recomend going to rallylights.com. They have very good customer service, and stand behind what they sell. (no I don't work there)

that's a good point. So how is it that the kit is $109/$107 (advance auto / rallylights) and yet the individual lamps sell for $75. I don't see how that can be!

Default woo sale price!

I would just like to post that I had a good experience with advance auto this morning. I went in, and there was a guy ready to help, so I asked about driving lights. He tried to point me at the Aisle O' APC, but I shied away in fright. Turns out they're in the truck lighting section - that's more like it! Anyway there were two boxes on the shelf. The sticker said $109, but when he rang it up, sure enough, $68!

I asked if he had any more around in addition to the one left on the shelf, and he said not in that store, but that he could get them brought over from other local AAP's in the area. Just in case anyone is interested.

if anybody is having trouble finding a set of these FF1000s at $69.88 in their local Advance Auto Parts stores, follow these instructions to search for local retailers with them in stock:

go to the www.hellausa.com website, click on the promotion for the FF1000 on the front page, then click the link that reads "one of these retailers". It will take you to a page that is now listing them at $109. Click "Add to cart" and then "check out". This will take you to a place asking for your shipping preference but at the bottom of the page, you'll see a form box reading "Re-check availability using this zip code". Enter various zip codes in your area and hopefully you'll turn up a zip code that has an Advance with them in stock. If after the search is done, you now have the option of "local pickup" at a specified store, then you've found a store with them in stock and you should rush over there and buy them. I was able to locate a store in Raleigh, NC (27609), and several in the Hampton, VA area, but none in the Fairfax/Arlington, VA area.

Genner - yes, this appears to be AAP only

nhluhr - see my post above. I looked up avaibility by me and all stores listed the FF1000s as in stock but when I went to go get a set, the guy looked in the computer and said there was not 1 avalible in the entire area. So, don't trust the website.

yeah, nhluhr, I tried your method out of curiosity. I put in the zip of the store that I had with my own eyes peeped one remaining FF1000 box, and the website said none in stock. Your best bet is to just show up at the store and poke around the "truck lighting" section.. in my case, they had a huuuge hella display. But if you can't make it there in person, don't trust the website .. call the stores and ask them. which is unfortunate since I've had conversations with monkeys who had a higher IQ than the store employees! no lie, I was on the phone for 10 minutes listening to them bicker in the background over how to transfer my call to the phone that was in front of the inventory computer sheeshh.. just walk the 20 feet and look down the aisle, why dontcha??

for reference, AAP stock # = 6250037 and they're called "off road lights" so even asking them to search for Hella might not work. Yes, their system is that bad.

well it was 100% accurate for me. I checked 4 different stores and the only one that actually had the lights in stock was also the only one that the website showed...

before i do, I still have to buy additional brackets right? And no wireharnesses?

Has anyone managed to have these fogs in place along with a foglight cover?
