Your mom 0w|\|z j00.

Without knowing your mods, its hard to say. Maybe her muffler is rusting through for the growly sound. If you have an intake that removes the torque box that would certainly explain a difference in percieved power.

i couldnt imagine how it would matter, but the legacys, and 98 rs's have a dohc ej25, rather than your 2000 rs motor which is the sohc. From my understanding the sohc is one or two horsepower or torque more. Maybe you have a rather fat trunk monkey in your car slowing you down

Your mom has an auto im assuming, and you have a stick?

Sometimes autos may sound a bit meaner and feel as they have more torque due to the way companies setup the OEM torque converter.

I would bet my lunch money that your car would walk away from hers though even if they both were sticks and unmodded. The SOHC not only has a solid 5-15 torque all over the band extra, but also the 2.5 RS is a tad lighter.

actually we both have sticks...she was getting rid of her corolla and asked back in 2000 what she should get...i said check out this 98GT wagon in black with all the options. It had 19000 miles back then...it has 33 now and shes run synthetic in it ever since. It just screams.

my 2000 RS also runs synthetic and has a weapon R intake as the only engine mod. It just seems slower you know jumping on the freeway. Of course i have Prodrive P1 seats which really make all the difference...

She went on to say it handles a lot better than her wagon...i said a nice set of springs would fix that

Ya get some Tom's springs for the RS. Of course I think modifiying her car to be better would be smarter than modding yours to be worse, but hey whatever.

It will take a lot more then springs to make a Legacy wagon handle with similar characteristics as your RS, trust me

Sounds like her car feeling faster is in your head.

Take it from a dead stop and get a friend to tell you how many seconds it takes to get to 60. Unless your car desperately needs a tune up and has a bad clutch that 3200+ lb Legacy will be a dog compared to a bone stock RS.

Nah, not a dead stop.

Take it in third or fourth gear with a stopwatch from about 4000-5600 rpms.

0-60 requires exactly the same: launch, shift points, shift speed...we are testing power/weight not skill.
