Thumbs up Buy the new WRX? Or buy........??

I'm torn.

Do I, sell my '99 RS and get the new WRX?

Or keep my RS and get one of these!!

Hmmm...seeing as how the new WRX IS a family car, and I'm too young to have a family...

I was trying to decide whether or not to wait for the WRX also, but I also didn't own an RS already. After seeing that there weren't any plans for a coupe on the horizon, I called the dealership and bought a MY 01 that night. The coupe is much better looking than the WRX. And I didn't want to miss my chance to own one. That was 2 days ago, and I still can't sleep at night because I am too excited about owning it. It's sitting in my garage right now, and I love it so much I think I will have to go and check on it for about the 20th time today.

I have a 2000 RS and I am going to sell it and buy 2002 WRX. My RS is a 2dr and its fun and all but WRX bigger and more power so thats why I am getting it. It will last me longer in the long run because of the 4dr's. Just to let you know I am 17 years old.

christuris- I would only get the frame and then build it up from there. They do have those component packages, but i am usually too picky to go that route.

rsquire- I am speechless. really...I don't know what to say....

Sweet Jesus rsquire. What's that car called...? I remember hearing about it on this board a couple of weeks ago, but can't do a search since I don't remember the name! So the first person to say "do a search" gets a grape shot at them from my exhaust.

Called the Ford RS2000..... I didn't even know about it till I came here... what an awesome car..... the only Ford I'd ever buy (I'd consider a Saleen too but that's tuned by Saleen not Ford... so it's really not a Ford, you can't buy it from Ford)

Cool

It's a Ford RS200.. Yes it does have a Cosworth engine.

200 were built for Rallying under the old Group B rules in 1986. Unfortunately after some bad accidents, due primarily to lack of crowd control the category was banned in 1987.

Of the 200, 6 were destroyed as part of the development program ( it under went full crash and emissions testing) and a further 20 were dismantled to use for parts.

The fastest 0 to 60 time ever recorded in one was 2.6 secs. This was done in 1986 by Stiq Blomquist testing for the UK magazine Autocar. O to 100mph is done is 6.93 and depending on the gearing installed the 1/4 in 10.9 or less.

I take delivery of it around the end of January. The current owner enjoys outperforming big bikes and even F40's and Xj220's. He says the look on the owners faces is priceless.

This car actually appears in the video Too Fast to Race which details all of the Group B cars.. Oh and also shows the most gorgeous woman ever to step into a rally car, Michele Mouton. She very nearly won the World Rally championship in 1986, mastered the awesome 650hp Audis, held the pikes peak record for 14 years and is still the only woman to have won a world championship motorsports event.

Never mind the cars, she's worth buying the video for

Yes but they're asking stupid money for those oh and they don't answer emails. I know I tried

Besides a car that is 14 years old and has less than 100 miles on would require a total rebuild. Every seal in the engine, brakes etc would need replacing. Also #168 is one of the wimpy 250bhp jobs. Although Blue was pretty rare.

OBTW the license plate 1 UFO is the same car as E 900 BAP. The private plate was sold a little while ago and the car has reverted to its original plate.
