Default MAF sensor for 99RS

can i use a different year's MAF for my 99 RS?
ie) 98 Legacy MAF or the 98 impreza or even a different car's MAF instead of Subaru

no... 99s had a film MAF, the others you mentioned have a hot wire MAF... your ECU can't use the hot wire variety...

If you search around the NA forum, there should be part numbers for just the actual MAF, not the entire housing... they are wwwwaaaayyy cheaper...

does the entire housing include the black plastic tube and the air flow sensor?
coz actually i need the plastic tube as well............
they are expensive then...............
anyone knows who has a used one for sale?

actually i am trying to turn my RS-T back into stock but i dun have the whole housing of MAF......

Hello Hojai,

Search here! I just did a search for an air flow meter for the 1999 2.5ltr Subaru Impreza and came up with 3 pages of info. Prices ranged from $45-$200. Some you can call to negotiate. I used this to purchase a stock ECU for my car that I was looking for. Good luck!

all 99 imprezas' MAF is the same rite? (film type)
dun have to be 99RS?
