Also, when you are in the mud with your car, what kind of rims do you have on there, they don't look like stock rims but look good for having fun in.

Thumbs up

when i hit that jump at 75 and got lots of air (on video) i hit the bumpstops, rebounded fully, and then hit the bumpstops again. just scrapped the y-pipes a wee bit, though.

excellent pics shawn, esp the ones i took

my rims are stock. so are the tires

I'm not particularly fond of jumping vehicles... There's a 4x4 website out there with a video of some jerk hitting a jump in a grand cherokee and getting like ten feet high/twenty feet long (downhill). When he landed he broke everything in the front end, including the solid front axle.

whenever we get air (usually) we make sure that the jump is safe, like this one. no traffic, straight on to it, straight exit, good pavement.

when i go out down back/gravel/dirt roads, whenever i come to a crest i slow down just in case. saved me too. there's one spot that you crest a hill, the road turns about 45 degrees and then preceds down a VERY steep hill for quite a ways. even if you managed to keep it out of the trees, you'd get at least 30 ft of air. even the impreza couldn't live through that.

Beautiful pic, but you guys should be careful catching air. You can compress your spine and paralyze yourself on landing. Stunt cars built for jumps have motorcycle shocks on the drivers seat to take the landing.

First off:
The rims on my Impreza (the black one) are 15" Forester Steel rims with Michelin Pilot MXV4's on them, they are my winter/rally tire insted of my 16's and Kumhos.
Second:
Jaxx, I will send you a high res of that image.
Third:
As for tha air shots, we arent that high to have to worry about spinal compression. The launch, landing and roll out are straight on and we ALL drove over it slowly first to check it out. We have spotters, one for trains, one for traffic and one or two for photography. Its not like we all want to die or anything.
It was a blast, we spent close to 2 hours out in that field terrorizing it. At one point 10th warrior and I were doing donuts in unison facing eacother as we rotated. What a blast!
Oh and we aren't pilots, I work for VisionAire Corp. we make that all composite biz jet in the background, The Vantage.

I will say that ShawnSTi and 10th Warrior are two of the coolest guys ever. They're in my select group of true driving enthusiasts, for whom driving and the joy of driving is more important than the car. You guys rock!

Shawn - your Group B video will be in the mail on Monday! Hehe, I finally got the VCRs to work right.
