What clutch was in there? was it your stock unit rebuilt or a new factory clutch? it would seem weird to put in a stock clutch, i thought the factory one cost more than the excedy? oh well.
good luck getting your money back. i would be pretty steemed myself. |

the stock clutch on our subies is made by exedy. The "street" clutch looks exactly the same as the stock but the disc is made of a little bit different material.... but still looks the same. I bought a exedy street clutch package (stage 3) from braden (not installed by him) and it was what I bought. Keep us updated.

email him at subyweb@aol.com or subysport@aol.com
If I recall, the exedy performance clutch looks like the stock ones, which are made by exedy. |

Oh, and be nice. If he didnt rip you off, Braden will not respond nicely to threats and blame. If there was a mistake, he'll work with you.

PM me with some details please. I too bought an excedy street clutch from Braden and it looks just like the stock disc. So much so that I called him up while installing it to ask him about it. It looks basically exactly the same as my stock clutch. The pedal feel is much different though. Honestly, did you pedal feel different? Did the clutch engage a little lower and the pedal feel a little softer? That's how mine felt. Not sure if the wrx is quite the same way since the clutch is a different style. Anyway, I've talked with Braden on this and he wants to get to the bottom of this for you. PM me your name and number and approx date of purchase and I'll have him contact you. OK?

Also, did you keep your stock parts? I know Braden always gives that option to his customers.

Guys... the Exedy street set up looks and almost feels exactly the same as OEM. Exedy makes our OEM disc and plate. The street set up only had I think 30%-38% more clamping force over stock which is barely noticable as far as pedal feel (engagement points are a little different). I bought my kit from braden over a year ago (when I got my car back from being stolen) and have no complaints and am happy with the set up. I hope nothing bad turns of this. I hate seeing or hearing about our Colorado suby tuner shops going to ***** with poor customer service.

I understand what the clutch looks like. I did not get ripped off and I'm positive that blurex didn't either. I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding. That is why I want to get this cleared up. Braden is a good friend of mine. This thread was brought to his attention and he requested I get more information for him.

blurex hasn't posted since 11/14 and since then several of us have all said the exedy looks like stock - so either he agrees and has given up, or he emailed braden like I said and braden replied.
