Hi guys - sorry this really should be in "News and Rumors" but figured you would all have a better idea of when to expect the new MY2004 Outback (legacy)? I thought it was February but my father was going to buy one this fall. After seeing the pics of the 04, he was thrilled and said he'd wait until that one came out but wanted to know roughly when that would be.
Thanks!

Do you mean the '05 New body style? The '04's are on the ground now, basically the same car as the '03 with different wheels...

Yep! I meant the 05's - originally, I thought the 04's were 03's with different wheels, so looking for possible release date on the '05s

It should be spring or early summer '04. I can't wait for those to hit the ground...
It's been a long time coming. |

Hi there!
In Switzerland, we got the new outback in November and, fortunatly, one of the first delievered examples in switzerland is mine (my previous car was a legacy). I tell you, the new outback is a damned good car and a big succes here. Thats why delivery times ar around 2 months now, because of the high demand. Subaru made a real big step in direction "high value cars". Here in Europe Subarus quality anyway was and is on top level, far better than i.e. audi's or bmw's. (I'd never buy one of those!) Merry christmas and a happy new year!!! Juege |

I *believe* Subaru is scheduled for press releases today and tomorrow (Jan 4 + 5) from the LA Auto Show. IIRC around 4:45-5:xx for today, not sure about tomorrow.
I think the assumption is that the legacy/outback will be "unveiled" during one of these times. Check the "news and rumors" section to find out more, but the bottom line, is that over the next few days, just about everything will be known!!!! ![]() EDIT: Terribly sorry - I meant the NAIAS in Detroit -- had LA on my mind from last week. Listed on www.need-desire.com is an unveiling at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6. So we'll probably see it in showrooms around the same time the BL/BP Legacy's start selling around the Spring-time.
The new platform will be built at the Lafayette, Indiana SIA plant. ag driven by guts inside! |
