We use a system by a company called Vericom. It's similar to a G-tech in that it is self-contained, but it has way more features. For example, a G-tech can record 0-60 acceleration, but the Vericom and record anything to anything: 0-60, 0-50, 20-30, 5-100, etc. Lets you compare second-gear pulling power, for example. It also has lots of other features, can be downloaded to a PC and seems pretty well made. Not sure of cost, but it is more than a G-tech. We have the Vericom 2000, and their Web site is at www.vericom.org.

I use something called GEEZ. It is more sophisticated than the g-Tech and MUCH less expensive than professional datalogging equipment like Pi, Stack, etc.. Edelbrock is the next step up, but then you are getting into installed sensors, etc..

Geez
