Default Rain = Hesitation?

to make a long story short.....

drove my almost stock (k&n drop in filter only) 00rs around and it started to rain. Felt like driving sporty so i down shifted from 3rd to 2nd and i noticed that i got hesitation at around 4K that made my car buck and sound like it was popping. Normally the car would be fine but do you think the rain has somthing to do with it? I was thinking the plug wires but i guess ill find out for sure when i try driving sporty when its dry. Anyone else have this problem?

Doubtful. Living in WA it rains a lot, and I have not had that problem. I have an Amsoil 2 stage with a Ganzflo intake FWIW. Recheck the wires. Filter over oiled?

Yes, wires for sure, possibly coil. Try sealing the boots with dielectric grease.

65k, yeah, wires are a wear item, and need to be replaced periodically. Fuel filter is also in strong need of replacement. Have you done plugs? Check those too. Might want to read your owners manual, about maintenance intervals.

yeah, replce the wires & plugs. if it is a fouled plug and you put in new wires it's not going to do anything. hopefully it's not your coil pack. doesn't sound like it is though.

fouled plugs RARELY cause misfires, especially a noticeable hesitation when wet...that would be wires

but bad wires can foul a plug. that was my point. so if he were to get new wires and the problem was still there(now all the time not just when wet) he would probalbly be pissed off.

plugs are new, only 6k miles on them....btw the whole shortblock assembly is new and only at 6k miles. Im not sure if they changed the fuel filter when my dealer changed the engine but i might as well change that too.

Today it stopped raining and i took my car out for a spin. Hesitation was gone but i still think im going to get new wires.
Any suggestions? Thanks for the input guyz.

Talking

To check and make sure the problem is your wires or coil, open your hood at night time (or in a dark garage) and then start the engine. You should be able to see blue arcs of electricity if it's dark enough. !!! DON'T TOUCH !!! If the arcs are coming from the coil pack, you'll probably need to replace it also.

Take some pictures if you've got a digital camera, please. It would be helpful to show to people who encounter this in the future (you're at least the 4th or 5th person I've seen w/ this problem, myself included)
