Judging by the angle and look of the impact... I'd say it was going along, lost control, and hit a pole while spinning. Nothing else can tear apart a car like a stationary object that JUST WON'T MOVE.

Way to much left for a train wreck I have to second 8's theory. Man it suks to be the owner. Thats weird the airbags deployed from a side impact I thought they only blew from a frontal collision....

You think a pole did that? Looks more like a truck smacked into the back side of it. I guess this is why we pay insurance.

Yeah, I think that's a Toyota Cressida wagon. Looks a lot like a Loyale from there though, doesn't it.

Actually, from that picture it also looks a bit like an older Mazda wagon. Wow, this is really geeky. Hope nobody reads it...

Greg.

Wait,
A moment of silence for such a beautiful

May it rest in peace. The F355 is one of
the most perfect looking, and sounding
cars ever dreamt up. (IMHO)

The reason I said pole rather then another vehicle is because of the smoothness of that panel after being hit. If it was a truck then it would have been all mangled, but it is just smoothed out.

As for why the airbags deployed... say you're going along and get the rear end to kick out on you and you clip a pole with it, that rear edge is catching on the pole and stopping you pretty good as well as ripping the car apart down it's weak point.

Now the Escort, on the other hand, was t-boned, or possibly rolled.

Nissan Sentra Wagon. Doesn't quite look boxy enough in the back end to be a Loyale.

No, actually I think that's a Toyota (Corolla?). Those two cars look VERY similar and the differences are very subtle. I could be wrong, but I think it's a Toyota. There's one just like that down the street from me and every time I see it, I think it's a Subaru wagon too

I'd say the Ferrari lost control at high speed and spun around and hit a larger vehicle (light truck) at 3/4 around. He must have really been flying.
