Post 2.5RS--MY00 vs MY01 differences?

hi all,
brand spanking new to the boards with a question: i have a '00 2.5rs on order ($ was quite good), and am now being told that it would be difficult to find, but i could have a '01 rs ($ not as good, but not too bad either) quite easily. does anyone know the differences between the 2 other than what i saw--carbon fiber-ish trim and standard cd player (neither of which appear to be worth much)? thanks.

Welcome
you have it correct. the 01 cars have those changes. not worth it for the extra money. if you did want those add ons you could prob get them from a aftermarket company much cheeper.

Also, it includes that guage pack showing temperature, altitude, and compass. No, not the oil pressure, voltage, engine manifold.

They supposedly started putting in new clutches sometime into the MY00 production, so the early MY00's (like mine) had the bad ones.

sorry code monkey I only wish : the ONLY differences MY01 over MY00

cd player, carbon fiber trim, and floormats standard ...THAT'S IT

the clutch problem might have been fixed late in the MY00 production also from what is being said.

I bought a MY00 in May, I had to give it back .I just bought a MY01 in August and I paid about 1g less for the MY01. I have basicly everything except the guage packs for 19.5 that's with AT tranny ...I got $250 UNDER invoice plus wheels locks and car cover thrown in....so people who aren't gettin good deals ..aren't shopping around at the right places

I was just at the Subaru dealership yesterday and they had a 2001 Black RS.
Main difference I noticed -- the leather-wrapped steering wheel definitely has a much softer, squishier feel to it. May even be a different material (not as black). Not as nice feeling as '00 IMHO.

its a clutch chatter that's the problem ...if you don't know what it is...you don't have the problem...do a search there's tons of posts on clutch chatter ....

look at the last 4-5 digits in your vin number ....if its high you're more than likely fine, if it ain't well you have a shot of clutch chatter in your future
