Default Finding the best deal on a Subaru

My wife and I need a new car. It looks like it's going to be a new Forester XS.

Let's hear your best tips on finding the best price.

Are there any internet or auto brokers that you would recommend? How do they compare to dealers?

Hope you can help us out. Thanks in advance!

Hey DL, I'm actually picking up an '04 wrx soon, sometime in the next month through a broker. It's about $1000 less than msrp, if you want the number I can find it for you.

The WRX is probably a lot higher demand than the Forester XS.
Someone told me that invoice is about 10% off MSRP but dealers often get extra incentives. They said I should get somewhere around $2000 off the MSRP (about $35,000).

Any comments?

my dad tried looking at auto brokers when he bought his xs. the minute he mentioned to the salesperson at docksteader that he was looking at a broker the prices dropped and it was cheaper to get it direct thru the dealer...

Try Quinella Autobroker: http://www.autosalesandlease.com/

I got prices from them hassle free. Just have to know all options and colour. I mentioned them before, do a search in this forum for quinella.

I used Quinella for the CR-V but had some beef. It didn't come with floor mats..etc, things which shuold have been included.

Needless to say I got a quote from him, brought it to Subaru and told em to make it worth my while. And that was that.

What he said. Get a tough quote..in writing, and then bring it to Docksteader. They'll beat it. The sales guy told me that they have a rep for being #1 and are willing to go some length to get the sale.

Worked for us and our 04 WRX!
