Talking Beat Integra Type-R

I have been visiting this board for quite some time. And I agree with people that say the impreza is no drag racer. But non the less I have lost to very few n/a 4 bangers and v6 cars. I have even beat some v8 cars.
All I have to say is that I would rather lose in am Impreza, than win in any other car. The subaru impreza rules......
thanks for reading such a long message..

True, but it's a reflection of the direction the board seems to be heading...

Actually, I only read this one because of the "Type-R" thing. The comparison is annoying

Exclamation

STANDARD DISCLAIMER TO FOLLOW:

Some of the complainers here take the position that it is not the gun that kills, it is the shooter who kills. i.e. "It is not the car that kills, but the driver" - TRUE.

Obviously, some road situations lend themselves to driving safely "faster than posted limits" than others, and some "kills" may be done without any risk to others who are innocent bystanders. There are always SOME risks and inherant dangers in anything we do, that's life!

I think we should be responsible for our actions, use good judgement, and remember that our "kill" stories do not contribute to the delinquency of others - they will do what they want to do...

I think he was referring to the title saying that he beat a Type-R Integra...

Personally, I highly, HIGHLY doubt that we can beat an ITR without either a good amount of bolt-ons (and them being stock), or heavy rain or snow.

greg..I admit...i am not too fond of all the battle stories we all have here....I just posted my first one, ironically enough, last night....but i don't know....it seems that sometimes, it is taken too seriously. I do admit, I like how our board normally is. We all kinda know each other a little, it's a bit more of a family feel than most boards are...I don't feel each person here is just an anonymous Subaru owner, partly because of the meets it seems each region has, and partly because of the generousity most members seem to have for each other in that we generally look out for each other, offer help whenever necessary, and offer sound advice all the time.
Saying that...there is nothing wrong with the occasional story...it's the stories of "I just killed a Viper" or the "so, as I was flying past the schoolbus filled with children, only to swerve out of hte way for hte old lady in the walker as I jumped the second curb to avoid the crossing guard...that bother me mostly. Anyway...as long as each person, myself including, understand there definetly is a right and wrong time to do any sort of enthusiastic racing when it comes to street, I don't see the total harm of it. Anyway, my point is, I've race a few times each year, if I think it was the perfect opportunity with minimal risk to others..if someone posts the message in good taste, and it's a realistic event (not the I smoked a Viper in 4 ft of snow) type post....it seems ok for me....the posts I'm not interested in, I just don't open....i'm sure we all do the same for certain things here.

I think, given the 'right' circumstances, most people driving a so-called performance car will race a bit on the street. That's not what I'm saying.

That these posts are taking on the look of "Subaru vs all" is my point, especially when the claims are just unrealistic (like in this post, or in posts about Saleen Mustangs or even Mustang GTs -- should I even mention Ducatis?). Hey, I posted this long message about an S4 and a highway interchange a few months ago, but as I said in that post, "I fully expected to be beaten", and the only reason I know I wasn't was due to the other driver not pushing their car.

Know the limits of yourself and your car, and realise that when you beat someone it isn't necessarily just because your car is quicker.

Oh yeah, and if you really want to race, the track is obviously where you should be.

Yeah beating a car that is out of our class really isn't gonna happen only u start force feeding ur sube. With the same mods, intake, exhaust headers.. the usuals, if u do the same and they do the same.. no way unfortunately..=(

I always hope when I read a thread such as this that the story will be about someone who has beaten said car at the dragstrip, autocross, or on the track. That is something I can count as a true 'kill.' This street stuff - I really don't see the point. Hell, it actually seems delusional.

At the track, I know the person I am racing against is doing his best to beat me. When I beat him, the victory is all the more savory.

Well I'll tell you all... go to the San Francisco region, Sacramento Chapter and look at the Street Tire class...

Note I was warned that the gentleman in the Corvette would beat me evryday of the week (save bad weather) as he is the smoothest they have ever seen... I guess he likes to come out on street tires and smoke with SS Corvettes with slicks...

Forgot to mention.... For those doubting the ability of the RS over the Integra Type-R... It is not an unfair advantage until you start getting pretty fast... Look at the numbers... They have the HP, but we have more than enough torque to keep the game pretty close...

I've owned both. The Type-R is faster. Around corners (not by a lot), and in a straight line (by a good deal). It's not all just about numbers.

I'll say it again, the "winner" of these so
called "races" is the one who slows down
first because HE realizes it is pointless,
dangerous and is a statement of how foolish
pride can make idiots of us all! You wanna
beat somebody 0-60 go to a dragstrip, in the
"twisties" go to autocross...these "wins" are
the ONLY legit ones you'll have.

Maybe we'll see "Hey, I was a bigger ass than
that M3 guy" posts soon!

Question

Just consider me a crazy person!

I will race anything that pulls up next to me and wants to run! I don't care if it is a Ferrari, Mustang, Camaro , Corvette, Yugo, or if I win or loose.....I usually like to win, but if I know I am outclassed to begin with, I usually don't mind loosing....It is all about self-improvment to me, how clean can I race. Clean meaning seamless shifts, perfect cornering, to be as smooth as possible..........

My favorite is wet conditions, although it is not as fun as the viper or my last project car(Supercharged miata)---This car doesn't get twitchy, so I take advantage of that to beat more powerful cars, it is just a game to me!
