Wink I just beat a Highway Patrolman...NOT!

Hey, just wanted to say that my supercharged RS is a freakin absolute blast to drive. The car eats up the freeway like you can not believe. 240 HP may not sound like much, but you must FEEL it. Fun Fun Fun.

I REALLY like my RS now. Reminds me of the muscle cars of the 70s, only smaller with better gas mileage and way better handling

Oh, BTW, I just filled my tank with 91 Super Unleaded and I am going to check my mileage to see if it has gotten worse, better, or stayed the same. I'll keep y'all posted.

So how many miles are you folks getting to a tank of gas?

I get about 300 miles give or take 20 miles. I drive like crazy, rarely use 5th gear and downshift all the time.

Thumbs down

I get CRAPPY Mileage... Now granted I only have 7500 Miles so far...

Anyway The best mileage I got was between Sacramento and San Franciso... I managed to scrape 22mpg total round trip... Now do note I only went to the Marin Headlands, NO city driving, never really even had to slow for traffic...

There ya go... Not that great, as far as mods to decrease my mileage goes... NONE Yokohama A520's are the only NON-Stock items I have besides a window Decal... (Yes I know about the discussion regarding the speed and HP gained from decals...)

Cool

I constantly get ~350 miles per tank. The best I got so far is about 28mpg on hwy only. BTW, my '00 RS now have 5400 miles and I use Shell premium from day one.

I guess I'm not driving hard enough

ARG,
Can you elaborate on your super charger setup. Is it the new Rimmer? I think others would like to know too.

I've never gotten over 18mpg on the street, and I think the best I've pulled of mostly highway was around 22mpg. *shrug* Maybe I need that S-AFC more then I think I do.

Somebody's right foot is a little heavy!

I average 22 MPG in mixed driving and 27MPG for highway only (70-75MPH).

I've noticed that my mixed mileage doesn't vary much at all... whether I romp it at every corner or try to behave for a whole tank (which never happens btw).

About 330 miles if I do nothing but city driving. Highway is much better, of course.

My average is about 350 miles. Best I ever got was 380 miles on one tank - that was when I was still breaking in the engine; shifting early on the RPMs.

On my current tank I am down to a qtr tank after 300 miles - 40% city and fast 60% highway. With my mods I get 18-22 mpg city and 25-28 mpg highway.

I would love more details on the rimmer, I sent an email with 20 questions and got two answered so far...

I may have to drive by rimmer today and vsit them since I live in their city. I've been putting it off so I don't get motor envy...

The most I got was 422 miles on one tank. That was ALL highway when I drove up to Poughkepsee NY, which is about 2 hours north of NY City.

Usually I get about 250-300 out of a tank, but Pittsburgh is all hills.

Oh, I use 87 Octane usually...only put 89 in it once, and mileage didn't seem to improve that much.

OK, so 300-350 miles to a tank of gas sounds like the average (or "mean" for you stat people). So I will let all of you know how my mileage differs with the Rimmer kit. Some of you inquired about my supercharger. If you want to see some pics of my completed install, go here: http://208.9.184.110/MembersList/Vie...?MemberID=1321

If you want more info on the kit itself, go here: http://www.rimmersuperchargers.com/

I did install a 1995 Mazda RX7TT fuel pump and I am in the process of replacing both of my radiator fans with a pair of Fluidyne(?) high volume 11 inch fans. They pull more air and draw less amps from the battery/Alt.

I am in full "mod mode" right now and I can't stop!! Help me, I'm spending all my money on mods and I can't stop!

I get ~27-28MPG highway which includes occasional speed boosts from 110km/h -> 140km/h (on up hill too!) and ~21-22MPG city.

After an ECU reset city MPG dropped by 1.5MPG but after a tank it went back to normal. Immediately after the reset though, my highway MPG jumped to 30MPG! Driving in the rockies for gave me 31-32MPG.

Here's my driving log if you're interested: http://ksato.tripod.com/subaru/2000log.html

Hey, I screwed up. That is not my link!!! Please try this link for install pics: http://208.9.184.110/MembersList/Vie...m?MemberID=944

OK, that's much better. Sorry for the mistake. I do make mistakes about every 2-3 years or so. Enjoy! ARG

I've been tracking my gas mileage since I took delivery of the car (handy little PalmOS app called AutoMobil)... So far I've put in almost 100 gallons, and have gotten about 21 miles to the gallon. I don't really drive with a -very- heavy foot, usually shifting up around the 4000RPM mark, but with the occasional excursion into the 5000s.

Would a fuel computer do much good for an essentially stock MY00?

I've noticed an average of about 26mpg in mixed driving.

Thats about what I got out of my last car with a 2.5 liter motor. ('93 Ford Probe GT)

With a heavy right foot, around town, I can get as low as 20mpg. At cruise on the highway, I regularly see 30mpg.

You guys don't have heavy enough feet!!

ARG - I love that "SUPERCHARGED" badge on the trunk.

What's with your exhaust, though? That red cap on the muffler is what I'm looking at...

I usually get about 210-230 miles per tank (about 18.5 miles per gallon). My mileage is so crappy because my car is running a little rich when off boost, and I drive like a nut most of the time.

Wow! You guys are getting that good of MPG? I run on only 93 octane gas and have only managed to get a high of 310 miles to a tank? Maybe, I should slow down or shift at lower RPM's? But, I have noticed in the past couple days using Mobil 93 octane that I got about 30-50 more miles to the tank! I have 99 RS with 25,000 miles on it and it's a 5spd.

Ohh for the one who asked whats up tith the red cap on the exhaust... I am guessing it's a bypass/passthrough, all depends what you want to call it... Many street racers/draggers use them since most strips don't have nois limits, they un-bolt the panel and presto-chango they have a wide open exhauist... Now the draggers usually have it before the muffler, at a measured point for true tuned exhaust...

Just my guess, but pretty sure I am right, note the image name... "Warlock_track_muffler.jpg"
