Snow in Burnaby

Rumour has it that it's snowing in Burnaby??

Can anyone else corroborate this?

It's pouring rain downtown, and doesn't seem that cold...

I agree, and I'm guessing uwt can corroborate since AFAIK he's downtown too.

Now back to your regularly scheduled question... anyone have any word on Burnaby?

it was snowing between the ferry terminals (tsawassen) and ubc and the downtown harbour at about 300 ft and up when I was flying up there not too long ago...

mountain's should be getting a good dump of snow tonight... and i hear there are lots of probs on the coquihuala tonight too..

mt. seymour: 18cm in last 24 more expected throughout the week. Currently 48cm base. 0 degrees at the parking lot.

Cypress: possibly opening this weekend (I'm not tearing my board up yet though...snow skate maybe until they get a decent base)

Blackcomb: I think it opens this weekend (22nd), with a full, official opening on the 27th.

Grouse: sucks ass (I wrecked my shoulder there and still hold a grudge

)

Must have been only at the higher elevations. It wasn't snowing anywhere close to where I live yesterday (Boundary Road area).

I did see the snow reports on the news, but then gee whiz, Beav, it snows on the ski hills. That's why they put the ski hill up thar in them darn hills, instead of in the valleys.

update: went up to Seymour today and they have 64cm of snow. The girl at the desk said they can open with 60+cm, so they will probably get it going next week. They've already started grooming, and I was pretty surprised by the coverage. There were a few twigs still poking out at the lower chair (lodge chair?...it's been a few years since i went there).

Ran the new Nokian WRs through some brake tests and they held nicely too. All in all, it was a fun driver up...but i need to get my mud flaps...

Kal Tire's got em. They ended up being just under a grand, mounted balanced, etc... They actually happened to be $80 off the day I went in, so that was a nice surprise. If you call right away, you still may be able to get them on sale. If you're still running 225/55/16s, they should have the right size in stock for you (Langley's Kal Tire had a bunch when I went in).

it snowed a bit up in the BP's and the upperlevels hwy but its gone now ,did not last long

Get your snow tires ready. My car got hit from behind at SFU because he got no snow tire on his BMW. My car already slide off and stuck on the curb when I got hit. I think some of you may of seen it by B-lot today around 12.

Andy: yeah most likely that was me. 3 BMW and 1 Benz stuck on the side of the road. Damn it if I knew SFU is going to snow I would of change to snow tires or borrow my sister's RS.
