Too bad it's just a concept car...

Though that would be one heck of an engine swap. But then again...if you're paying that much, why not just get an EJ20t?

"Subaru's parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries will develop a new SUV for the North American market that is based on the part-car, part-truck ST-X concept vehicle introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Japan's Nihon Keizai reported that the new SUV, which could arrive as early as 2002, will be supplied to dealers who have relationships with GM, who owns a stake in Subaru. The vehicle is to be assembled at the Subaru-Isuzu plant in Indiana.

i got it from here

It may be a Concept vehicle but do make the follwoing notes...

1.) Speedvision covered the LA Auto-Show recently and Subaru's American Market Rep was there, stating that this was a vehicle intended for the American market, just like the Forester... For once something bound for here before there...

2.) The Swap ideas are great, BUT make note Subaru is good at making things for one car that are a hasle for others... Remember the Supercharger for the Impreza causes a Bubble in the hood, but doesn't on the Forester... This may be simply too large for the Impreza's poor little Bonnet...

3.) For those liking it's power and not for the Swap... Note the Weight behind it... Hell a new Dodge Ram has a lot of power but it also weighs a whole lot more too!!!
