Thumbs up Bye guys...it's been great!

Well it was with great haste that I gave up my 99 Impreza RS Turbo this afternoon..

My employer came down real hard on us field guys and mandated that we all drive 4 door cars that get approved by them. Well..the 4door Impreza wasn't a candidate for them and a 2door was prohibited in any car.

What was on their list was the Audi A4...so I just upped the ante and bought an S4 instead. Beautifull car the S4. Twin turbos and 250hp stock. Now we all know stock sucks so mods are already in the plans.

Good news is that my Impreza RS lives on and was sold to a big go-fast guy...who??? you say. I sold it to Joe at JCSports. He will use it as his daily driver and shop showcase vehicle. I sold it to him with all the mods.

It was good to meet all the cool guys on this Impreza list and local members. I will still attend all the events...but I'll have to woop on ya with this German screamer

C-ya guys,

Mark

Damn, that sucks man. Well, I'm supposing they pay at least part of the lease/financing if you have to drive by their specifications. Hope you like the new car.

Also you might want to check out http://www.audiworld.com/ - that is where rao is hanging out now too since he switched over.

I'd do an S4 too but hey enjoy and thanks for the memories. I got a kick out of hearing someone on this board today wanting an automatic turbo subaru compared to their manual turbo thanks to you . Hopefully you will still pop in every now and again.

They give me a car allowance, provided I meet their terms. Since this allowance pays for 3/4 of an S4 payment each month...I'd be a fool not to participate.

I wish my job would pay for 3/4 of my car. Especially if they let me get something like an S4.

I knew a guy who had a list of four 4-door family cars to choose from (Taurus, Camry, Accord, Intrepid). At least you don't have to drive one of those piles of junk (OK, so the Accord and Camry are at least reliable, but they still blow goats). Given the parameters, you definitely made the right choice. Sorry to hear you had to make the choice in the first place, though. Best of luck.

Isn't the S4 the same type of car that Adam Bloom had just bought as well.
They are AWD aren't they.
Enjoy.

Mark -

I hope to still see you around JC Sports. I got to drive your car last nite. VERY nice. That will be mine soon. I am buying Dave's kit, he's upgrading. I should be boosting @ 7psi to start. I plan on going to 10psi within 3 months Stay local, I wanna hit you up for tech advice. Also, I want a ride in that Audi. Those things rock.

Another young rebel warrior (Subaru owner) has become a Jedi (Audi owner) to held defeat the Dark Side (Sticker Racer)!
LOL, Sorry to see ya go, but the Audi is a Sweet ride! Although a Subaru Legacy GT would have been sweet too! Happy motoring & good luck!

Mark,

Sad to hear you're leaving the Subie ranks - I was looking forward to more great info on your turbo/4EAT combination, seems like one of the few around! Are you gonna keep the Subie web page up (I hope)? Did you get Joe to sign an agreement to keep reporting on the car's tech tweaks here on i-club?

Enjoy the S4 (who wouldn't?)

I don't know how I feel about this. It's not like the car won't still be around, I'm a local. So it only really means that Mark will be bringing the S4 to the track and autocrosses... cool...

Hopefully you're still planning on making Second Creek on the 18th. I'd like to see the S4 and I'll bring the Type R... for those interested in that. It's not fully broken in, but I can do VTEC runs now...

I hope you still make it to Second Creek on Sunday. I'd like to see the S4 up close without having to deal with a dealership. Maybe you can let us drive it too
Hope to see you there (I'll hopefully be hitching a ride in Eric's Type-R)!

Sorry to hear about that and at the same time congrats. If I had the money I'd be driving a Audi S4 or BMW 328Ci. Yeah right!
