Default EJ Porsche 914 Conversion

So I know there has been other threads on this subject that i have read up on but would like some input on engines as the i think the game has changed since some of those threads.

I'm looking for some input on selecting the correct engine as there are allot of options and price ranges. That said, below is what i think i need/want so let me know your thoughts.

-Goal = 300-330 CHP
-Engine budget = $2000
-EJ series engine
-Using stock 901 transaxle
-Will be using stand alone engine management, either Megasquirt or EMS stinger from Outfront Motorsports as they do allot with JDM 2.5's in dune buggies.
- Based on my research thinking JDM EJ20k but would prefer a 2.5 but the JDM turbo 2.5 are astronomical and the NA version is 10:1 compression requiring high octane if i turbo.
- Open to USDM options just can't seem to find any that don't need rebuilt and the cost seems higher that JDM.

The EJ25 was designed for North America, Japan used the EJ20.
