Not bad. I only got as far as the home page before I lost interest, but that's just because of the content.

Needs more cowbell.

Or the $1800 per for the new years eve show

Let me tell you a story....I dunno if you were watching the world series, but in game 3, they showed Yanni at the game. Yea, he (his assistant) bought those tickets from us, for like $1300 each

So too old school huh? Any suggestions or pointers on how to make it more better??

Less is more. Lose the frames, clean lines, the 3D look is old, etc.

Only issue is that I can't lose the frames, the eventinventory system is run off those and I had to come up with a page around it......

hmmm, less is more.....I'll try to think of something "less" then

trhoppe -
I'd need to see the system to help ya out. A lot of my web-apps use hidden frames to accomplish things, I'm referring to frames as more of a design element.

http://www.eventinventory.com/search...tart=yes&e=675

That is the eventinventory system. I can't change the way that "looks" as its fixed on their end. All I can change is the colors. So basically I need to design something around that, and the current result is the best I could come up with

Yeah, I see what you mean. They don't expose a web service? No CFC's?

Why aren't you guys just building the DB yourself? This kind of stuff isn't terribly difficult...

Nooope nothing. All they give you is a link. They even want you to use searches and crap that they write. I had to kind of backdoor the "Search events" text search I have on the front page.....

The DB is a nationwide ticketing system that we are tapping into. There are probably 250 or so brokers that have their tickets in this. We get a cut off everything sold off our website and also tickets that we bought and own are shown off on 250 other websites....

I work with VB so my scripting skillz = good but my "creative" skills have teh major suck. We have "designers" at work who take care of that stuff

Hmmm, I see. Well, dunno what to say. It's also convenient that they take care of all the transactions, etc. But this is monumentally limiting. Are you able to define your own CSS files, or do they have some sort of GUI for setting colors, etc.?

they cut you down on that too, GUI only.

Limiting it is but we pretty much have to use it as w/o this system we wouldnt make jack for $$....

Well, I think there's a lot you can still do with those limitations. In terms of tips for design - look at all the top successful sites (forget Amazon for now, they're flailing in the design department). Most of them are based on white backgrounds, and they try to keep things simple and clean. As an e-commerce site, you need to resist the temptation to get fancy schmancy - people aren't there to look at your website, they're there to buy isht. You can make it look good, but the focus of the site isn't the way it looks - it's what it does.

Its sooo grey.. sorry but the colors are dull. You are selling entertainment you need colors that will make your image stand out and make your viewers take notice. If you dont mind working in layers make a interactive flash site. I love layers and I love action scripting even more
