*bump* any ideas from anybody

It only seems to happen when I initially leave in first gear, sounds like someone flipped a light switch or something. The sound doesn't happen the rest of the time I'm driving around at all.

It's weirding me out.

Well first off some of the people on that threat are not describing the same sounds I'm hearing. The sound most occur's then it's cold outside, although it's done it when it wasn't cold out. Happens in first only from a stand-still, it's a loud click sound sorta metaly(is that even a word!?), lol. Get back please.

I wonder if I can find some sort of diagram of the engine compartment telling me what everything is and where. Anybody have anything like that? I'd like to know what components are in the general area of the sound I'm hearing.

Well, I'm trying to search for something similar to this, but here's what I've been getting...

When in any gear, but it's most pronounced in first, I get a solid metalic 'click' when I initially accelerate, if, and only if, the car has been sitting for a while or I've allowed the car to compression brake. In addition, I get the same click when compression braking in basically any gear. If I accelerate in first, then shift to 2nd, I don't get it, but if I'm in first up to 3k rpm or so, then let off the gas, I get it at the point of initial deceleration, then get it again when I give it any gas. I'm thinking it sounds like something's loose - I had thought a tranny mount, but the shifter has no play and doesn't move or give any vibration that's consistent with the click. It's definitely in the drivetrain though in my case.

Sound like what anyone else has?

Ok I was at the Dealer today getting the usual oil change and fluid fillings. Had them listen to the sound.

For those of you like me that want to know what it is

Again it's a Clicking Sound that only happens when you first turn on the car and go anywhere, but never happens again while you are driving.

The Mechanic who seems to be quite knowledgable told me it was:

The ABS System doing a self-test to make sure they are working properly, completely normal in my case.
