Its going to be the impreza wrx, and you can get either a 2.0 turbo, or a n/a 2.5L it will still be the RS for the n/a engine.
I think im right

the RS will be gone when the WRX comes out, the lower model will be called a TS instead. Every where else the TS will be 2.0l NA engine that will put out 153hp using the similer technology as the honda VTEC engines with variable timeing and lift and all that good stuff, the states will probably get the same, most likely no more 2.5L engine

no the WRX will have a 2.0l turbo engine, but we should keep the 2.5l N/A USA loves displacement ...and it will be re-badged as a TS ...just like subyracer said.

Nope, you're all wrong SOA will still be manufacturing the 2.5RS model when the WRX comes to the states. But, the bodystyle will either remain the same or be changed to the WRX model.

Cool

True, I also read that the nonturbo impreza will be called "RS" or "WRX" for the turbo version.

No no no!!! when the new WRX comes, there will be no N/A cars at all. Instead it will be accompanied with a fleet of AWD Azteks! Yup Subaru will then be known as selling ultra weird and ugly cars!

Nah, the 2.5 stays. t's gonna be the base engine but be rebadged as TS. I bet it would go into the OBS too. However will the 2.5l get that AVCS technology? I doubt. It's too much of a truck motor.

The body style will be updated to the then-current shell. Subaru will not build the old shell once they switch the factory to the new shell. Why would anyone think Subaru would still build the old shell?

Central region Sube Rep said that the Imprezas will all be updated to the newer style, but the RS will be rebadged the TS. The 2.2 engine will be history (kinda like my 1.8) and the 2.5 will be the standard NA engine. The 2.0, of course, will be the Impreza WRX.

I think the Outback Sport and the Impreza L Wagon becomes the Impreza TS Sport Wagon.

Expect a Forester GT in 2004 during it's body change if the Impreza WRX sells well (which we all know it will, regardless of the body style).

Nothing new for Subaru.

The 360, 70's wagons, the XT - all considered weird and ugly by many. I love 'em, but they were definently funky looking!

Gossip, gossip gossip. Nobody knows what we are getting for sure. All we know is The new Impreza is going to be unvailed at the Detroit Auto Show in January and released maybe around March as 2002 model. SOA did confirm we are getting a turbo WRX. SOA has not annonced what is going to happen to the Impreza (L,OBS,RS TS whatever)line-up. As we all know what we get could end up being quite different from what the have in Japan.
This is what they have: The body styles are the sedan and wagon, the available engines are 1.5lSOHC 100hp, 2.0lDOHC AVCS 155hp and 2.0lDOHC 246hp Turbo (can't tell if AVCS or not). All three motors have been LEV certified in Japan. The WRX is the sedan and can be had with either the NA or NB(Turbo) motor. The wagon is available with the turbo motor as the 20k, but doens't have the fender flares. Rumors are out that the STI will be reased in December January an have 280+hp.

The UK, Australian and other countries models of the New Impreza are going going to be unvailed starting with the UK on OCT 17th. Subaru has been tight lipped. Nobody over there really knows what they are getting. It's all rumors just like here. We will be able to make better guesses as to what we will get after the UK and Oz gets theirs.

Until then what everybody is posting is pure speculation. I talked to a manager at a quite large local subie dealer and he said the only thing they know is we are getting some type of turbo Impreza. I told what some people have been posting and he said it's all BS. He was just at a meeting about a month ago in Cherry Hill for info on the 2001s. He said SOA wouldn't tell them crap, except that the New Impreza will be released in spring as a 2002, a turbo will be available, "The Impreza will be the focus of Subaru performance in North America". He hadn't even seen photos of it.

Question

OK, just one question (even though I know it's all speculation)...if RS stands for "Rally Sport", then what would TS stand for?
